Some water isn't all what it seems, especially WATER by Glaceau
"Vitamin Water" by Glaceau!

Let's admit it the bottled water is out there everywhere! It's not only on my desk right now, but it's in every single store, in most of our cars and in our refrigerators. We are living in a new generation, one that prefers bottle water instead of tap water. Spring water instead of filtered. The fresher the better! This has become the only type of water most of us drink, including my own family. Now we have the latest vitamin water.

That's correct...water has at last become even better for us and it's more useful than just something to wet our whistle! Water is more like a nutrition drink these days folks, because it contains a long list of vitamins on each and every bottle's label. That's right and by the way, there are many brands out there to choose from too. It's a wonderful idea!

However, look out for all that SUGAR squeezed inside many of these vitamin enriched bottled waters. So many brands are filled with the stuff, I mean they can be really high in the SUGAR content friends! If you are like most of us and you too watch your calorie and SUGAR levels in the foods & drinks that you decide to ingest? Then this is a real concern to you, just as it is to most of us that are trying to be more health conscious by making wiser choices with our daily intake and hope to live a smarter lifestlye.

There are many companies out there that claim to have a healthy vitamin water product. One that immediately comes to my mind is "Vitamin Water" by Glaceau! This brand happened to be my first, when it came to trying any of these new bottled water products enriched with vitamins. The taste was really delightful, but after I checked the list of ingredients I was shocked! In my small 12 oz. bottle of the great tasting punch flavor water called revive, I noticed calories were 75 with SUGAR at a high 19. Even the carbohydrates read 19! My point is since then, I have discovered other vitamin water products with much less SUGAR, calories and carbohydrates and happy to say...still a great delicious taste by the way. Tropicana has a fruit squeeze drink 8oz.with 20 calories, just 4g SUGAR and 5g carbohydrates. It tastes good too! Another one to try is "FUZE - slenderize" with 8oz.you have just 5 calories, no sugar at all in this one and 1g carbohydrates. Lots of taste and really my favorite out of them all.

Remember there are other choices if you like to drink vitamin water drinks. Shop around and get what you really want less SUGAR and more drink for your dollars. Why should we take in all that SUGAR from Gatorade, when there is G-2, or the unwanted SUGAR in "Vitamin Water" by Glaceau? Not all vitamin water is equal.

Hi there GigiandAdonai... I'm glad that you took the time to read this review. Your comment and testimony story that you just shared is most appreciated. This applies to any comments that you might have concerning any of my reviews. I too enjoy that great taste of the band named Glaceau, when it comes to bottled Vitamin Water. They do have a really GREAT taste! However, when certain health issues are at hand some of us are forced to reduce our sugar and calorie intake. (Such as in my case.) Situations like this demand immediate change and this is when we are guided to different brands. Those brands that do contain less sugar and calories. Everyone's story or testimony can be so very different, but each one is no less interesting. We all simply do what we must in any case. Thanks again for sharing and commenting, I do enjoy hearing other people's side of the story. Have a smiley and happy week my friend! :) ~Angel~

I guess I'm the odd person out because I love the Vitamin Water and my doctor encourages me to drink it. Set the stage: I have never liked to drink anything much like water. Growing up my parents always complained at how much I would run and play (fun and athletically) and never take a break to rehydrate myself. I hated water--no taste. One day I got a Vitamin Water and loved it. I love the little stories for each flavor too ;+) I preferred it over Gatorade b/c it was sodium free. I told my doctor I was drinking it and she was happy because she is familiar with the medical conditions I have...I don't drink them often, not even one a week so it's not an overindulgence. My beverage of choice is sweet tea or Lipton's Green Tea with citrus. Great review though! ~Gigi

Katrena you are welcome. As you obviously know then...we can't deny it...facts are facts and many of us at times can simply over due it on many good things. Education is needed when it comes to the vitamin world, plain and simple. ;) Have a smiley kind of day!

I just wrote a guide on vitamins and included information about getting too many vitamins. Thanks for mentioning this in your review!

Thanks for a great thought-provoking review. I think I gave this product a thumbs-up earlier on but it should say something that I never ended up buying it again -- switching over to other things which had less sugar. It's a worthy product in its own right but as far as "healthy" goes, it is what it is and we should have no illusions about that.

MikeMaroon...thank you my friend! Wow... yes that's an interesting statement or rather idea! You have a mind for just what might make it next out there in the sales market! LOL... :) Happy day! ~Angel~

Seems we are a people of extremes. For a long time, all the alarmists said we weren't getting enough vitamins. So, what did we do? We put them in everything! Won't be long before you can get vitamins by wiping your butt with Charmin!!!! As a result, we get TOO much. As I'm sure you know, some vitamins can be harmful in too large amounts. Let's not even talk about the sugar content! Thanks for the enlightened and informative review!

Pattythere thanks for your comment. It is appreciated and well taken. I agree with the article that you read recently. It's very true when it comes to that selected portion of today's population. There are definitely people that overdo it when it comes to choosing their daily needed vitamin intake. There are also those on the other side of our population that are in need of an improved and better nutritional lifestyle. For these individual I can say VITAMIN WATER drinks could offer them some "small" benefit. For those that do choose to drink special vitamin enhanced water beverages, it should be made clear that they do contain other ingredients. Such as SUGAR and sometimes too many unwanted calories. Understanding that there are certain individuals that do search for more in their daily water and are attempting to take in (even a little) added nutritional advantage besides. People that are actively participating in sports for example would be in need afterward to replace their body's' fluids and hydration. In addition they need to drink their "power" drinks for the added electrolytes and if there happens to be a few vitamins added, that's great too. The same goes for those of us that have one of many health issues and happen to need more vitamins / minerals, and really appreciate any way we can get them into our daily intake. We must (just the same) always remind ourselves that the very best of all waters to drink for hydration purposes is indeed PURE WATER. This is the best of all the waters to pick from for most of the population today. I think drinking a VITAMIN WATER here and there is fine, remembering to read the labels checking for sugar, but your first choice is PURE WATER plain and simple.

I was reading an article that said we are actually overdosing on vitamins with supplements, nutrition bars, vitamin water, etc. We really don't need all that stuff. Water's better and cheaper!
