I knew I'd have to get some Chicago style pizza when I visited Chicago last weekend. I mean, really, it would be awful to go that far and then not even be able to say that I tried the local specialty. — Jolie said that Giordano's would be a good bet for Chicago style pizza. Jolie is the Viewpoints Angel, and she lives in Chicago. If anyone ought to know, she should. — The first thing I did after I landed and took the subway into town was walk to Giordano's. This put me there a few (very few) minutes after 11 a.m. Remember though that I went through a time shift, so… read full review »

Giordano's has several franchises, throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and what I really respect is the consistency of quality from one to the other.  I know what to expect when I walk into a Giordano's whether it be downtown Chicago, or out in the suburbs by my home.  The ingredients are extremely fresh and flavorful.  The pizza combo choices are virtually endless, so I encourage folks to mix it up and try new things.  You will have to wait, but as Alton Brown is fond of saying "Your patience will be rewarded"  The best way to eat at Giordano's is to phone… read full review »

As one reviewer said, this could be considered a tourist trap at the downtown location. I admit that I am one of the tourists who was told "don't leave Chicago without getting pizza from Giordano's." So I did, and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is not far at all from Michigan Avenue's main business district. We stopped by on a very busy day for carry-out, and I was worried that we would be stuck in line for a long time. The restaurant was full and the counter area was packed. So I was surprised to see how quickly we received our meal. The pizza was good, but much different from… read full review »

I like to visit local restaurants when I travel and happened to read a good review of this restaurant.  Boy, the reviewer was sure right on this one!  We went in at lunchtime.  They weren't too busy so we got seated right away.  They have a lunch special during the week where you can each get your own individual deep dish pizza, so my friends and I didn't have to worry about fighting about what to put on it.  After one piece my friends were commenting on being full, but I could have eaten two pizzas by myself they were so yummy!  Afterwards, I ordered the… read full review »

Well first, I will preface this review with I am a Chicagoan.  Giordano's has been around a long time and the downtown locations have become somewhat of a tourist trap.  That being said it's not a bad thing.  I think that it has very good deep dish pizza.  The crust is decent just average and the protions are large after 2 slices of the large deep dish you will need a nap.  The ingriedents seem fresh and plentiful.  If you never had deep dish pizza you must try it.  If you are not from Chicago and want to try other pizza locations wich I believe better… read full review »

This place is AWESOME.  My son took a friend who lives in Chicago home after visiting him in Grand Rapids & I rode along.  We went here for lunch. YUMMY!!  My son has now moved to Chicago so hopefully more visits here.  I worked in Traverse City MI at time of this visit & had told a co-worker that my son had talked about how good the food was.  She used to live in Chicago & I couldn't remember the name of the place.  While we were eating our food I grabbed a cell phone & called her.  "Hery Laura.  I just remembered the name of the pizza place in… read full review »
