Whenever I have friends come into town to visit and I have the chance to take them to have a true Chicago deep dish pizza, this is the place I go.  I've only lived here for a year, but in my opinion Giordanos makes the best pizza in Chicago. Actually, I take it back.  A place called Pequods makes the best pizza in Chicago, but I've only been there once and it's location isn't as convenient as Giordanos numerous locations.  BUT this pizza is I guess second best. Let's pretend I've never had Pequods pizza. As one reviewer said, this could be considered a tourist trap at the downtown location. I admit that I am one of the tourists who was told "don't leave Chicago without getting pizza from Giordano's." So I did, and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is not far at all from Michigan Avenue's main business district. We stopped by on a very busy day for carry-out, and I was worried that we would be stuck in line for a long time. The restaurant was full and the counter area was packed. So I was surprised to see how quickly we received our meal. The pizza was good, but much different from what I expected....

Well first, I will preface this review with I am a Chicagoan.  Giordano's has been around a long time and the downtown locations have become somewhat of a tourist trap.  That being said it's not a bad thing.  I think that it has very good deep dish pizza.  The crust is decent just average and the protions are large after 2 slices of the large deep dish you will need a nap.  The ingriedents seem fresh and plentiful.  If you never had deep dish pizza you must try it.  If you are not from Chicago and want to try other pizza locations wich I believe better deep dish pizza and are willing to take...

Giordano's Pizza is among the best Pizza places in downtown chicago, excellent staff , it took some time to get us a table for 4 but worth the wait !! The staff was cheerful and attentive, would recommend this place to friends. if u plan to visit on a weekend, reserve in advance.
