Gilmore Girls stands out from the pack due to the excellent and consistent writing and the wonderful acting of the two Gilmore women. Add to this an excellent supporting cast, great production values, some angst, starcrossed lovers and snappy dialogue and you get a recipe for succes. — — Over the course of the seasons the writers were able to keep the show fresh with twists without cheating on the audience. Gilmore Girls is one of the most amazing shows ever. It is absolutely charming and full of one-liners. It's a good DVD collection to break out when you're having a bad day or are just snowed in. I always found myself watching these DVD's when there was crappy weather and I'd call up a couple of friends and we'd spend the entire day watching disc after disc. I've also found that they make excellent gifts. I gave my best friend the first season for her birthday and she loved it so much that she went out and bought the second, third, and fourth the next week. This was/ is my all time favorite tv show.  I still watch it on DVD and the reruns on TV.  I still can not believe they ended it and like they did. :(  It made me sooo sad.  I still feel like I am missing the end of the story.  I wish they would have had a better series finale.  Although I heard that were not planning on ending it, it was a last minute decision and therefore the season finale that is suppose to leave you hanging became the series finale.  I think when they came to the conclusion to end it they should have come up with a better ending!! … read full review »
