Quick View: I stopped eating sausage years ago. I like it but it is very fatty and I always wondered just what was in those links. The last straw was when I stuck my fork into a link and fat came spewing out at me and stained my clothing. Gross. However, we discovered Gianelli Turkey Sausage and all is right with the world again!

About Gianelli Turkey Sausage Links

I like to have angel hair pasta, a little marinara sauce, and tender delicious sausage like my Mom used to make. But back then, I weighed 90 pounds and never thought about calories, fat, or even weird ingredients. I just ate. Ahh, the simple days.

Now, I watch everything I eat and try to make healthy choices. Gianelli Turkey Sausage is wonderful. It tastes just like regular sausage and is tender and juicy. There is nothing "missing" from this sausage but calories and fat. The big links come in mild and hot varieties. Here is the nutritional info for those who who are label readers like me:

Nutrition Facts, 2.3 oz per serving:

Calories: 70
Protein: 11 grams
Total Fat: 2 grams
Saturated Fat: 0 grams
Cholesterol: 40 mg

70 calories and only two grams of fat! And lots of protein! I eat two of these links with a little pasta and I am stuffed yet I am eating healthy! These can be grilled and made into sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions and they simply melt in your mouth. Gianelli also makes a turkey breakfast sausage with roughly the same nutrition panel but for two links instead of one. SO GOOD!

There is nothing weird or funky in this sausage (like turkey lips) and the quality is consistently wonderful. We won't eat any other brand and even my picky kids love this sausage. I don't think they even know it's turkey.

If you crave a good sausage sandwich or pasta and sausage, look for Gianelli Turkey Sausage Links. They have all the taste and much less of the fat and calories of pork sausage.

My Viewpoint

My waistline thanks Gianelli. I can now enjoy sausage links with breakfast or have a great dinner without guilt. The price is about the same as pork sausage and the quality is consistently delicious. 5 stars!

In response to LaurieM's comment from Mar 9, 2008 at 8:55PM:

I think we ate this as kids. Not the turkey type because Lord knows we had to be authentic and Dad would have flipped if his sausage was TURKEY but I think we ate this brand. I almost remember buying it at Lees and Stiegerwalds. lol. Many years ago!

This is the only sausage that we eat. No one in the house even knows it is turkey sausage. I have been using it for so long they are just used to it. It tastes great!

LOL. There MAY be weird parts but they don't say explicitly what they are. Long ago, I ate a slim Jim and the ingredients said "beef lips". Never again...never again...

Glad you mentioned about the no weird stuff in there. ;>

Note: I know turkeys don't have lips! I don't want to edit the whole review but I meant turkey beaks. Or you know, weird parts of the turkey like feet and stuff.
