I remember the first time I saw this movie and I went kicking and screaming all the way. I was not into love stories but sometimes you just have to see what your girlfriend wants...lol I usually stay away from giving a lot of story line but this is too me a Classic and worth seeing more than once. Even though I know what is going to happen the story is powerful enough to be enjoyable every time. So although I have given some Spoilers, you still have to see it too feel the Love it has to offer.......Enjoy!

Ghost

I had always liked Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopie Goldberg so I thought all would not be lost and I was right. The movie starts off rather tame and then little by little it starts to draw you into the deep love shared by Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Deni Moore) a love that even death cannot stop. Sam cannot seem to say "I Love You" to Molly as he always answers her by saying "Ditto" instead.

Tragedy strikes and Sam is killed by an apparent mugging gone wrong and the real story begins. Sam however is stuck between worlds and begins his quest to protect and watch over Molly. Seems Sam's partner in business Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn) is not a very nice guy at all. In his quest for riches he becomes a mad man and becomes a threat to Molly's health.

Sam knows he must protect her and goes about learning how to do it. He enlists the help of another "Stuck Soul" (Vincent Schiavelli) who roams the subway terrorizing passengers. This ghost can move earthly objects and Sam wants to learn but getting the troubled ghost to help him is another story. As Sam tries to convince his true love that she is in danger, he enlists the help of a con woman by the name of Oda Mae Brown (Whoopie Goldberg), this begins the comedy portion of the film and it fit well into the overall story.

Now even though Ghost came out 18 years ago I don't want to spoil any more than I already have. I have seen this at least a dozen times and each time it was as enjoyable as the first. I not only have it on VHS(yes it is old...lol) but I also bought the DVD as well.

Ghost runs 128 minutes and won 2 Oscars and many other film awards for this Comedy/Drama/Fantasy based film. The song "Unchained Melody" fits the movie perfectly and believe it or not I could once get my voice high enough to actually sing it and was told I was good...lol

Bottom Line

Ghost is too me a timeless classic as far as "Love Stories" go and if you haven't seen it yet, make an effort to watch it. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. It brings a tear to my eyes every time and I will never stop watching it. Any movie that can portray love between two people as Ghost does is a great movie. You are drawn into the lives of Sam, Molly and Oda Mae from the very start and it is a wonderful journey!

I know this life is not the end but I can't say for certain what the afterlife has in store for us. I do know that Love is powerful and perhaps it does cross from one world to the next. The Love we have for those that pass does not fade, perhaps their Love lives on as well!

Yes, this is a classic love story. I think "Unchained Melody" is what made it worth watching for me. I don't think I knew of Demi Moore before this movie. My mother watches it all the time. I think she can't get enough of Whoopi ;=)
