For those not initiated in the Gevalia experience, they are one of the original mail-order coffee firms, and the coffee is not available in stores. For the hassle of mail-order--which Gevalia makes as painless and flexible as possible, you'll find much higher quality coffee than the national mass-market brands, and similar or better quality than most premium brands, and probably better quality than your local coffeehouse. The 8 oz. ubiquitous box makes a great gift for coffee lovers. They have many roasts and flavor available, but the hazelnut coffee is beyond question the best of their flavored coffees. A smooth, medium-light blend of arabica beans helps balance and carry the flavor. The pronounced hazelnut aroma as you are brewing the coffee is a joy to smell. There is a slightly sweet flavor to the hazelnut, so you may not have to add as much sweetener as you normally do, if you use sweetener. Even if you normally do not use creamers, this flavor benefits from either half & half, whole milk, or non-dairy whiteners. If you are watching your calories, this coffee with low-calorie sweetener and whitener will provide a wonderful dessert coffee that can be enjoyed by itself for less than 30 calories.
