I used the Gevalia coffee maker for four years at least twice a day and sometimes three times daily.  I used the Gevalia coffee for a while but then switched and used most any brand on sale.  I found the quality of the coffee...the taste, the aroma, and the strength to be consistent.  The coffee maker itself is very attractive and adds to your kitchen decor.  After fours years of service it did bite the dust but I felt that I had paid a high price for coffee makers that did not last as long and were not a consistent in their quality and this one is FREE.

I go through phases with coffee...I'll drink it for awhile and then tire of it and switch to another beverage of choice.  When I'm in my "coffee phase" the Gevalia CM-500 gives me everything I need in a coffeemaker!  It is simple to use, quick, has a timer when I need/want it, and helps me make a larger quantity of coffee if required.

I received the Gevalia 12 cup coffee maker free when I signed up for their service. I wasn't expecting much (I'm a believer in 'you get what you pay for') but I was really surprised.

Let's start of with the superficial - the appearance was great. Brushed stainless steel, tiny buttons that don't detract from the looks, digital display, nice overall look to it.

Now to the meat of it, for me at least. First I want to say, I am not a coffee drinker - I use mine to make water for tea. The best thing about this machine, for me, is that the water doesn't come out with that nasty plastic after taste...

The Gevalia CM-500 12-cup Stainless Steel Coffe Maker was sent FREE! (I had to buy two packages of coffee) The Coffee Maker is working very well for me. The only thing I could say negative about it... When I pour the water into the back part, I seem to spill some out. The way it's shaped is awkward? Maybe I should get a funnel? I love this Gevalia coffee maker.  When I walk into the door of my office in the morning and its the second thing I turn on (radio first by the front door ;o) ).  Most people get it because it comes free when you order the Gevalia coffee,  but I like it because it simple yet sleek.   It comes in black or white and it has stainless steel on the front and sides of it so it gives it that new modern look in any kitchen. I love that it has the automatic , so before I leave the office I make sure it setup for the next morning so I can have fresh coffee in the morning. I like that it holds twelve...

I sent for Gevalia Coffee to get their coffee maker for free.  It came quickly and very well packaged.  I opened the package and unpacked the machine and placed it on the counter.  The next morning I brewed the first pot and went to get dressed.  The first odor I remember was not the smell of fresh coffee, but a smell like something was hot and a little scorched.  I called the company and they sent another coffeemaker right out. 

In the mean time I kept using the smelly one as (my old one didn't work) and then it stopped smelling so bad.  So I kept it going and put the second one aside. ...

Personally, I have a preference to use a coffemaker that does not have a hot plate, as was my last coffeemaker (an Oster with carafe), but still do not allow the hotplate to remain on for long: I make a full pot and then fill a large (glass lined) thermos with the coffee. 

The only other issues I have with this coffeemaker is that the area for which to pour the water is somewhat small, as I pour water from a gallon jug (bottled water) and therefore becomes awkward, but recently purchased a new funnel specifically for pouring the water into the coffeemaker.  Also, with the water level gage being...
