Gevalia CM-500 12-Cup Stainless Steel Coffee Maker Review

I sent for Gevalia Coffee to get their coffee maker for free.  It came quickly and very well packaged.  I opened the package and unpacked the machine and placed it on the counter.  The next morning I brewed the first pot and went to get dressed.  The first odor I remember was not the smell of fresh coffee, but a smell like something was hot and a little scorched.  I called the company and they sent another coffeemaker right out. 

In the mean time I kept using the smelly one as (my old one didn't work) and then it stopped smelling so bad.  So I kept it going and put the second one aside.  The first one gives off the burnt odor on occasion, but I keep using it.  It makes excellent coffee.  The only complaint I have except for odor is that it is a little hard to get the water into the back of the maker with out spilling some.
