Gerber Rice cereal is a great starter food - my son started eating it around 4 1/2 mo.  It's really easy to make up by mixing in a little breastmilk or formula.  I started off with it a little runny - that way the texture wasn't an issue and he could get use to the spoon thing.  He loves eating it with or without over foods added to it.  He does get excited when I put his bibe on him and he sees the little bowl & spoon.  He doesn't spit much out & usually eats everything I have made up for him.  I also haven't had any issues with it bugging his tummy in any way.  It is really gental on the tummy & a great way to start the transition between bottles & spoon feeding.

Gerber Rice Cereal (with or without fruit) is probably one of the best baby cereals on the market.  It is reasonably priced and babies seem to love it.  I find the box and spout easy to use and store and it is great to put into the babies bottles.  The other cereals seem to be too thick for babies bottles.

I started using this product because it is what my mother-in-law bought for my daughter instead of the Earth's Best that I usually use. Anyway, it has proved to be a better product than the Earth's Best for putting cereal in the baby's bottle. My doctor told us to start putting cereal in my baby's bottle when she was a month old to cut down on her reflux.  It really seemed to work but the other brands of cereal were too thick to use.  Gerber rice cereal is the one that worked best.  I like that it adds vitamins to my babys diet. The other positive is that this cereal is a bit less expensive than other brands of baby rice cereal. The down side to this cereal for me is that it is not organic. I really wish there was a comparable product out there that was organic. I am really concerned with keeping extra chemicals and additives away from my baby. If Gerber would come out with an organic version of this product, it would be perfect!

There several baby cereal on the market. We tried several varieties. My (and my babies') favorite is Gerber Rice Cereal. These cereals have very fine texture. I use breast milk to prepare cereal. However, you can use water or formula instead. By adding more or less liquid, different consistency can be achieved. Cereal has several vitamins and elements added, so baby is getting the balanced food. The easy to pour spout is great and make it very convenient to use. Several flavors are available with single and mixed grains. My baby's favorite is rice with mixed fruits. It has bananas and apples. I like that Gerber have organic variety, although we buy regular one. In fact, these cereals are not only for babies. My older child got sick one time and cannot keep any food down. So I fed him with Gerber baby cereal. They are easy to digest and have great nutritional value. That was the only food he could eat. I would definitely recommend Gerber Rice Cereal
