I have found Gerber rice cereal for babies to be a great value and a good choice for a first time food for my baby. She really likes it a lot and looks forward to her mealtime. I breastfeed her but mix the gerber rice cereal with a little bit of liquid formula. I usually use the Similac to go bottles that are already liquid mixed instead of the powered kind. Anyway, one of the super things about Gerber is the product support. You can go to their website to sign up for special offers and they will mail you coupons in the mail that also include tips and instructions for introducing solid foods to your baby. As a first time mom I found this information to be extremely valuable and it is why I chose to use Gerber brand instead of some of the other baby food brands like Beechnut. I have noticed that the other baby food brands do not offer as much product support and certainly do not offer the discounts and coupons that gerber does.

My doctor recently recommended that my baby start eating infant cereal one or two times per day. I was a little nervous about that since I feel he is still little young for starting baby foods, but once my nursing friend assured me that infant cereal is on a whole different level from baby fruits and veggies I decided to give it a whirl. I decided to give Gerber Infant Rice Cereal a try for a multitude of reasons. The first being that Gerber is a very trusted name. It has been around forever, and they really know what they're doing when it comes to all things baby! The second reason I decided to give this a try was because the price was very reasonable! And lastly (but probably the most importantly!) is because I know that rice cereal is the best to start baby's on for allergy reasons. I am very impressed with this cereal. I love that I can mix it with my breastmilk and that I can mix it to whatever consistency that I need, which right now, is VERY runny. Overall, Gerber makes a great product and when it comes time for me to introduce fruits and vegetables to my baby you can bet your money that it will be Gerber brand (and they offer organics in those products, which is AWESOME!!).

Gerber products are great! Not only can you trust the product, but Gerber provides valuable information for new parents as well. This is the first solid food that I fed my baby. As a first-time parent, I was uncertain how to mix it and introduce it to him. The mixing instructions on the box where great, and helped me feel more confident about my new adventure feeding my little guy solids for the first time. I also read some great tips on Gerber's website about feeding solids for the first time. My son is now 10 months old, and I have continued to feed him Gerber products due to my success with this cereal. The only thing I really don't like about this product is the packaging. When removing the cellophane from the box, stray flakes of rice that are trapped between the box and wrapping always fall everywhere. And the cardboard spout on the side of the box is awkward and sometimes tears. I accidentally set the carton on a wet spot on the kitchen counter once, and ruined the entire box - it can really soak up some water! I prefer the "tub" packaging, or something with a screw cap like the Beechnut products.

I absolutely love Gerber rice cereal!  Its practical, can be found on sale MOST of the time, and my baby absolutely loved it!  I started him on rice cereal when he hit 5 months and it was the perfect starter food!  He was exclusively breastfed before that and I was really worried about introducing anything harsh into his diet, but Gerber rice cereal was perfect!  He loved the taste and texture and it was perfect for mixing into other foods!  A few months later, I was mixing it into fruits and veggies, which made it the perfect texture for a beginning eater like my son!  The other great thing about Gerber is that it has so many varieties, which makes it easy on parents.  After I fed him rice cereal, I went into their mixed grain brand as well as their oatmeal.  They all really go well together!  I would recommend Gerber rice cereal to all mothers, new and experienced!  Its a great value, great product, great price!
