I don't have kids but I buy and eat these for myself when I want a snack. Tastier and healthier than pudding.

Yummy For Baby!

My daughter started off with Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Banana flavor. This flavor is her favorite! She started off at 5 and a half months old and loved it. It's very easy and safe to eat . it's very healthy for little ones. It's also portable to take with you on the go.

Gerber Nature Select 1st Foods (Banana)

I found it really difficult to know in what order to start feeding my first son solids but this was the brand and flavor I opted for and from that first day, it was a must-have on my shopping list. You expect that baby foods these days would probably have all of the preservatives and aritificial flavors and colors in order to entice your baby, but Gerber Nature Select 1st Foods is about as pure as it gets. It is literally just, bananas! I as a mom always felt obligated to try a spoonful of my baby's food and this little tub of bananas was exquisite! I recall adding it to other things to try getting my son to deviate onto other flavors. I held onto this particular brand of bananas for longer than I should before progressing onto other stages because it was always a safety net for me. I would always have some packed into my bag in case we ended up at a restaurant which was not agreeable for my son. I have even been known to use leftover tubs in adult deserts because they taste so good!

One Of Our Favorites

Our daughter is two now, but when she was a baby I really liked these Gerber baby foods that came in the rectangular containers. They were great little containers for reusing - much better than glass jars. The price of these is really economical as well, especially since there are two per package. We mixed up our baby food options quite a bit, choosing such brands as Beechnut, Earth's Best, and Gerber. Among the banana choices, Gerber brand was definitely our daughter's favorite. It had a nice, firm texture - not gloppy like some. It was my preferred baby food to mix with rice cereal. We usually like to use organic foods, but in my research I have discovered that produce and vegetables used in baby food is held to much higher regulations where pesticides and herbicides are concerned. Bananas are low on the pesticide and herbicide level anyway, so I felt very comfortable giving this product to my baby.

Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Bananas: Yummy for Baby's Tummy!

5

Gerber is a long trusted name and company when it comes to baby foods. My mom used it for me and my brother. I used Gerber baby foods for my three girls, who are now grown and raising babies of their own. It was only natural that I recommended the Gerber brand to my daughters. I was a bit surprised at the new packaging for Gerber Baby Food after my last granddaughter was born. The jar is gone and replaced by a plastic foil covered cut. It's nice in the fact that it isn't breakable, but I'm still not totally won over on the new packaging, but I'm sure I'll be getting used to it! The Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Bananas was one of Payton's first foods after she started eating Gerber Rice Cereal. She loved the flavor and enjoyed each meal she had with her bananas. When opening the small container of Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods, you will be greeted with a fresh banana scent. You can tell the freshness is sealed in when you open a new container. Bananas are a great source of Vitamin C for babies and an excellent fruit to introduce as one of the first foods. Quality of Ingredients I love the fact that Gerber uses high quality produce that is farm grown and selected very carefully. The food is pureed very finely, which makes introducing new foods easier for baby to accept and also digest. Gerber foods are made with natural fruits and vegetables and do not contain any additional sugar. starches, artificial coloring or flavorings. I highly recommend Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Bananas, as Payton has loved it. Safety As mentioned above, Gerber purees the food used to make their baby foods very finely. I have never found any chunks or pieces of food that shouldn't be inside the baby food. I also appreciate the fact that this allows babies to get used to the consistency of the food. Another point is that the food is also more easily digested by your baby.

Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Bananas are all banana!

I generally gave my babies organic baby food made by either Earth's Best or Gerber, but there was an occasion when I bought **Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Bananas**. I like that it is as pure as it can get (without it being organic). It has no added sugar, salt, artificial colors or flavors. This baby food smells really good and has a perfect consistency for a 1st food. It's very sweet, so you may want to get your baby started on veggies first because once they get the sweetness of bananas, they might have a hard time going over to veggies. Quality of Ingredients Don't let the "NatureSelect" name fool you, there is nothing special about it, unlike some other Gerber baby foods that are organic or contain DHA for healthy brain development. Ingredients: fully ripened bananas, citric acid, ascorbic acid Safety Gerber NatureSelect 1st Foods Bananas are very safe. The only thing that could make this product better is for it to be organic. However, since bananas have a peel on them, I don't mind giving my son banana baby foods that are not organic because the pesticides are all on the outer peel.

Baby and Mommy think it's yummy!

When my daughter started eating the Gerber 1st foods fruits I tried all of them as I was starting to feed them to her. I can say that I would eat the bananas! The only thing that might be a little tricky for babies that are just starting solids is the texture and consistency. This was the first fruit she tried and it is a lot thicker than the vegetables so she was a little confused at first. The flavir is really good though. After she had them a couple of times she got used to the thickness and now she loves them. This is a great way to feed baby bananas. I have given her fresh mashed bananas but they are still too thick for her. I would say try the bananas after some of the thinner fruits to get baby used to the different consistencies. I think both baby and mommy will love them. I really have nothing bad to say about Gerber foods overall. My daughter loves them and I feel confident that I am giving her something good for her.

My son loves these!

When my son was just shy of 4 months old we decided to try him on "regular" food.  His doctor recommended that we either start with baby applesauce or baby bananas.  We chose the Gerber Natureselect 1st foods bananes.  It was difficult at first having to teach my son what a spoon was and how to open his mouth and put the food in his mouth, but once he got the hang of it, he fell in love with his bananas.  The amount that comes in one of the 1st foods bananas is too much for one feeding for the little ones but it stores and reheats well and once he got a little older he was able to polish off an entire container in one sitting.  He loves the taste, I love the texture and knowing that he's not going to be choking on it and knowing that he's eating his healthy fruits.  It's a win win!  I wish that these were a little cheaper but I guess that you pay for the convenience of premade baby food.  I definitely recommend these as a first baby food.

Banana's and Sodium don't mix

3

I was at HEB 3 days ago checking out baby food brands for my son. All I want is a good quality baby food that is as close to Organic as possible. I'd buy Organic but I have WIC and they only cover the normal food. As I was reading the nutrition lables I noticed that both Gerber and Beech-Nut use the same ingredients. f so, then why do Gerber Bananas have 5mg of sodium in them and Beech-Nut had none? I know sodium is okay in small amounts for babies but why put it in bananas? Bananas don't come with sodium if you pull them off a tree. Which is why I don't understand why you'd put them in a fruit. I have always bought Gerber baby food but now wonder where else they are putting un-needed salt. I understand meats and maybe even some veggies but fruit is best served without salt. Now Im not saying don't buy Gerber foods, the meat ones actualy have less salt than Beech-Nut meats. I just want people to know and be aware of what they are putting in their babies diets.

Gerber Bananas are wonderful

Ok so I have three kids. My middle child who is now 2 years of age and my youngest who is 8 months old have both loved the heck out of Gerber food Bananas. To me personally I dont think they smell all that great and you can tell that it is made of bananas and not just flavored like them. My kids however love them. I figure as long as they love them I will feed eat to them. I would highly recommend this product.
