My 1 year old is unable to drink 100% fruit juice because of ill effects when she uses the bathroom, so, the pediatrician suggested that we not give her 100% juice items until she is a little older. While searching for a suitable product, I was appalled to see the amounts of sugar in the other juices. In fact, even the 100% juices contained high amounts of sugar. I happened upon Gerber Graduates Fruit Splashers Purified Water while shopping for snacks for her. Being a "Flavored" water, I wasn't sure if she would like it or not, and for the amount you get, it isn't exactly cheap (a little over $2), but had to give it a try. We bought the grape flavor and it was a hit. She drinks plain water and milk fine, but I wanted to add something else for variety, and this works out great.

All about the drink:
Like I said, for about $2, you get 32 fl oz, and can choose from grape, kiwi-strawberry, or tropical. The "Water" has 40% less sugar than most fruit juices. It is purified water with a fruit juice blend that is from concentrate. The grape contains 100% vitamin C and 10% calcium and 3 B vitamins (the other flavors do too, I believe). It is sweetened with only real fruit juice. It doesn't contain any artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors. Because it is clear with just a little tint, it doesn't stain, just leaves a wet spot. The bottle is colored, but as I said, the liquid is clear. You have to use within 5 - 7 days after opening. This drink is for children 1 year or older.

My thoughts:
I am happy I found this. I trust Gerber and we use several of their graduates products. I say this is a little on the higher price side, but really, the 100% juices are just as high. My daughter loves the taste, and I can feel good about giving it to her, at least until she can tolerate the 100% juices. I would suggest this to anyone, even if their toddler can tolerate pure juices. It is a great way to keep them hydrated on those hot days because it is water. Leave it to Gerber to come up with this, but I am glad they did!!!

I agree as well. My son loves this juice. He will dring almost a 32oz bottle every 1. days. I was worried it was too much. His Dr. says as long as he does not get the very loose stools he can have as much as he wants. He prefers it to his formula. It quenches his thirst more so that the formula I think and not as "heavy" on the stomach. I have been trying to find this in bulk??? If anyone has ideas let me know. I did call gerber and they are sending me some coupons. Lets see what that is about..... thanks everyone.

I tried watering down her juice too, but no luck, so this is our best bet!!! And she loves it, so major bonus!

My Mom told me (many years ago) to water down the juice for my girls, this sounds like a good alternative to that and doesn't water down the nutritional content. ;)
