Gerber Graduates Finger Food Fruit & Veggies Puffs —

Gerber is well known for its baby foods, life insurance, toddler foods and even feeding tools and drinking cups.   Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs were not "around" when I was introducing my two older children to "real foods."  But I discovered these through a coupon from the Gerber website, which I had joined and that provided me with timely age appropriate coupons on many of their foods.

Fast Facts about Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs

  • Available in two flavors sweet corn and sweet potatoes
  • Individual bite sized star shaped snacks
  • Easy to pick up by little fingers
  • Light and airy, like a piece of puffed wheat cereal
  • Crumble easily
  • Dissolve quickly when eaten
  • So soft children can "gum" them to dissolve and swallow preventing choking

Price of Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs: $2.50 per 42 gram (1.48 oz.) package

My Viewpoint:  Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs are wonderful for introducing toddlers to solid food as well as providing a healthy and convenient snack for at home or on the go.  The canister is like a Pringles can; long and slim with a plastic lid, however the distinctive curve in the canister makes it easy to grab and carry.  Because they crumble so easily, I do suggest if you are going to take them somewhere just take the canister or place them in a sealed container, not a plastic bag. Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs are made with real vegetables, but are not a substitute for a serving of vegetables.

Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs easily crumble and dissolve so some of the worry about introducing solid foods is gone, but please still supervise carefully.  I found it also useful to keep my daughter busy while waiting in restaurants as well as she enjoyed eating them with her baby food, I guess she liked being part of the process.

To save a little money on Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs join the Gerber website for coupons mailed to your home as well as printed from your computer.  Also, since these are in the Gerber Graduates family of foods, you can save your UPC codes and turn them in for even more savings.

Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs are a great way to introduce foods, encourage fine motor skills, and get a little more veggie into your child's diet. Nothing beats creating your own food and snacks for baby, but a little help never hurts.  I have to admit, the cheese flavored puffs are a favorite in our family and I have caught even the teenager sneaking a bite or two at snack time.

Safety comment:  Please do your research before introducing solid foods and consult your pediatrician.  Some signs to look for include the ability to:  crawl on his/her hands and knees with the stomach not touching the floor; use his/her jaws to crush food with the gums; hold small food between the thumb and index finger; eat thicker, lumpier foods with larger pieces.

In response to lilsquibb's comment from Mar 25, 2009 at 2:08PM:

Yeah, all bets are off about 3 weeks ago- ask me why during a private message -- I had to go buy them again when the girls saw them while we were out to eat! And, my review is so much better :-D LOL

You did it... ahahaha I bet you didn't realize that you did something you said you wouldn't... you and Bryan reviewed the same product :) How I missed this listing in my baby food search I don't know but it's going on my list of duplicates now.

My nephew loved these for awhile before he was allowed to eat more solid foods. We had to hide it from him because if he saw the can he HAD to have some! Good review
