Gerber Children's Products Fun Grips Color Change Spill Proof Cup Review

I love my kids, but sometimes keeping everything straight gets to be a bit much. Between figuring out what cars go to which sibling to who gets the blue toothpaste, it gets frustrating...fast. Thankfully, Gerber has created a cup to help make a parent's life easier using just color.

How It Works

Simply pour a cold liquid into a clean cup (it's not required to be clean - just general advice though!) and watch the cup as it changes colors.  Give to your child and you're set. As long as that cup stays that color, you know that the liquid is cool. In the summer it's especialy handy to ensure that your child's milk or water doesn't get too warm.

The Pros

I have to say first - we have so many of this cup that I think we are set until my kids have kids! These cups really are great:

1) They are really fun to use - the kids want to use them and they can really easily master them. My kids get excited when they see them being placed in the dishwasher because they know they can use them again!

2) Interchangable Lids, Stoppers - Just because you used the purple lid on the pink cup doesn't mean it can't be used on the green. The beaty of Gerber products is that they can used with literally every Gerber lid.

3) Dishwashing Safe - Handwashing is fun, but being able to just throw it into the dishwasher has some merit too. Nothing could be easier!

4) Survives a Beating - My kids are tough on our cups, yet these cups make it through day in and day out!

The Cons

Unfortunately, nothing is just perfect.

1) Not Stroller/Car Seat Friendly - because it's larger at the base, it outsizes most cupholders. It's a huge con if you want to use the cup on the go. However, you can learn to live with it.

2) Stoppers don't always stay in - if your kids like to shake this cup, watch out. That stopper will come out at the worst times. Sometimes you'll just hear the rattle a bit too late.

3) Tough to clean - when finding sour milk, it's always a "fun" chore to wash out the residue. Unfortunately, the size of the mouth makes it difficult to reach all of the areas of the cup. I have to work twice as hard to get it sour milk free.

Overall

You can't go wrong with this cup. You don't have to buy a lot to be happy with it since it comes two to a pack. We have only purchased 8 in the last 3 years, and all 8 are still with us and providing us with quality cup service.
