Well, my son is 7 months old and has two bottom teeth in the front. He is able to sit up mostly on his own, but being that I'm a paranoid mother and he's my first child, I leave the boppy pillow behind him for added piece of mind. They say these are some of the considerations you should make before giving finger foods to your baby, so I thought I'd let you know them first off.
One of my favorite features of these 'cookies' is that they are wrapped individually inside the box, so you can take them on the road without taking the whole box or having to use a plastic baggie. I often will throw a couple in his diaper bag so he has something to gnaw on if we stop to eat ourselves. The shape looked strange to me at first, but when I gave it to him I realized the oblong shape makes it easy for his little hands to hold while chewing on the biscuit. The pricing in the area where I shop (Dallas, TX) isn't bad at all.
A couple of words of caution about giving them to your child, though. Firstly, make sure you never leave your child alone while eating them, because he or she may be able to bite off a chunk that gets stuck in their throat. Fortunately, my son (like most babies) has quite a gag reflex, so he's managed to get it out on his own. Secondly, they are quite messy. Be sure to pack a change of clothes and something to clean your baby with if you plan on using them outside of the house. The crumbs will go everywhere and when mixed with baby drool will turn into a sweet mud.
Overall, I'd say these are a great buy for less than two dollars a box with great portability. The best thing about them is my son loves them! In the time it takes my son to eat (or completely destroy) the biter biscuit, I can finish my own meal. When you have a little one and not a lot of help, that's a God send.
