Academics- When I attended GSU, I thought it was easier than high school, now I look back and realize just how much work I did and am surprised I did so well.  while exams are pretty much what you expect them to be, the papers and projects were challenging at times and really opened my eyes on a variety of topics.  Whether it was writing a one page response on the differences between Martin Luther and Calvin, a 20 page research paper on blacks in Reconstruction era South Carolina, or just studying for an international politics final, there was a need to get one's work done and to study.  Georgia State University definitely prepared me when it came to public speaking, international affairs, state and national politics, writing editorials and reviews and law.

The faculty was top par for the most part.  The political science department and foreign language department are both very good.  The professors were very helpful and rarely did I have to confront a professor with an ego.  I still talk to some of my professors as a matter of fact and it's good to know that most of them treat you like a person and not a number.

Georgia State University will continue to grow and improve with each year.  It is getting a football team next year in 2010 and continues to buy property around Atlanta.  The student population is expected to swell to around 35,000 in the next few years and more dorms are expected to be built.  Georgia State University is a great choice for those not looking for the traditional college life.  The university is extremely diverse, Atlanta is a great city and the resources and academic facilities the university possesses are incredible.  Georgia State University was A-Ok.
