We bought this specifically for making sandwiches, but it can be used for other things such as steak, chicken, etc. It evenly distributes heat to grill both sides at ones. The plates have grooves that will drain fat to a collection plate. They wipe off easily, pop in and out of the machine with ease, and can be thrown in the dishwasher! It makes a quick meal! Ease of Cleaning Wipes off easily and plates can be put in the dishwasher. Ease of Use With some supervision, even the older kids can use this.

This grill is one of my all-time favourite appliances. We initially bought it to make toasted sandwiches (which it does with ease, no matter what bread you choose), but now we also use it for all sorts of foods. It has the option of being a grill press, with the two non-stick hot plates together, or an open grill, with the top plate laid flat, doubling the cooking surface. We cook sausages, chicken, salmon fillets... You name it. The plates have grooves, draining off fat and oil into a collection drawer underneath. The plates pop of for easy cleaning, and the whole unit looks great on the counter-top, with its shiny steel surface and large handle. I think this model is a good choice, as it is far more versatile than some of the other models available.
