I LOVE MY GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL! I can use it for pretty much anything. I like to make sandwiches, grill meats, I even make my chicken, onion and mushroom meal or the beef, onion and mushroom entree on here (I marinate it with my seasame ginger sauce, quite delicious I might add). Initially, I felt like the grill had a tendency to dry the meat out with you have the top lead closed but nowadays, I put alumnium foil over top the grill and I don't close it. (It's got a little steaming action going on... keeps the meats moist and succulent). I even put frozen fries fries on there. This is a great product if you make it work for you. It is easy to clean, what I like to do is, once I remove the food items from the grill, I take a lot of paper towels, wet them and wipe the grill down. If I didn't get a chance to clean it and it has already cooled down, I plugged the grill in, and while it is warm enough but not searing hot, I wipe it down. I don't have any complaints with my george foreman grill. Another thing I like to do is, line the drip tray with aluminum foil so that once I am done cooking, all I have to do is remove the aluminum foil and the drip tray is clean. To me, it is easy to clean and my grill looks brand new. Another helpful hint is to use plastic forks to get food from the grill, or use it to turn food over. By doing it this way, you don't scratch up the grill, well, I know I haven't yet and it's been 2+ years now. I don't have any real complaints. The grill is a tad small if you intend on making a fairly large meal, aside from that.... I LOVE IT!
Here's one of my favorite recipes I've created that's easy and great for the George....
Meat: Chicken or Beef (or whatever you desire) cut in desire piece sizes
Mushrooms (add as much as desired)
Onions (I like to use white onions)
Marinate in Lawry's Sesame Ginger Marinade ( for at least 30 minutes, but I like mine to marinated for at least 1 hour)
I place all items on the grill, don't close the lid but place aluminum foil over the food and sides of grill so the sauce doesn't splatter and the moisture stays in. Check on it about 5-8 minutes later or a little longer, then I turn the food to the another side and I like to rotate the meats (the ones in the middle goes towards the outer region, vice versa) I've noticed the grill is not equally hot around the grill, hottest area in the center... and then 5-8 minutes later take it off the grill. And serve with rice.... Definately one of my favorite meals lately.
