George Foreman Grill - Indoor GRP4P Review

The Bottom Line:  No kids - HOT!   Cooks evenly - under 10 minutes. Room for 4 large burgers, filets, chicken breasts. T-Bones or large steaks - 2 at a time. Removable grids.

George Foreman has finally got his wife's brains into the design of a 4 -1/2 pound burger, 2 thick steak contact grill with removal grids for easy, fast cleaning.

Out of curiousity, I borrowed one from my neighbor letting her play with my HB unit. This unit comes with a long wide drip pan that slides under the front of the unit, and tongs that slide down each triple row to clean it as it cools to wash.

First item to do is spray with cooking spray or lightly rub oil onto the grids, then heat it for 4-5 minutes to "season" the nonstick feature. Then you are ready to cook with the preheated unit. 5 minutes for burgers & steaks, 8 minutes for chicken breasts with bones, 6 for deboned, 10 minutes for pork steaks or thick chops. If it isn't well, medium, med rare or rare, you just close the lid for a few more minutes until perfect.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE THE GRIDS OFF BEFORE THEY COOL. Even the handles are extremely HOT as the instructions tell you not to handle the unit when it is cooking other than the front handle. They also tell you to put it on a fireproof placemat or rack so you do not damage your countertop from the heat. ALSO do not use metal utensils to cut meat or flip burgers, use PLASTIC! Easily damaged by this so it won't be non-stick.

Half hour after we finished the burgers, I ran soapy water in the sink & sunk the 2 grids & they washed quickly with a sponge or kitchen towel. Dry it & snap it back into position noticing that the bottom has a sliding down area that is the front of the bottom grid. The top grid is the same on both sides. You can also put into the dishwasher, when cool to touch, to clean easily that way.

So glad I was able to use & review this great piece of cooking magic. I did like it, would buy one if need arises since I already re placed my George Foreman grill that went cold on it's first birthday. Unfortunately this one also has a 1 year warranty that doubles with a credit card. So in a year I will check her's to see if it still lives or if these died at age 1.

Great cooking for wintertime when the outdoor grill is covered in 2 feet of snow!!!!

UPDATE:  1 day after the one year warranty expired it died! She didn't use AMEX so no warranty extension.
