George Foreman Grill - Family Size GR26CB  —

To the Point

Over five years ago we bought a small George Foreman Grill. We love it. It still works after almost daily use but was getting to look old and it was small. For $30 (Can be bought at amazon.com for that price.) or at www.georgeforeman.com we bought the George Foreman Family Size Plus Grill Model Number GR26CB.

A Closer View

This GR26CB is considered a family size and it comes with a cookbook. The cookbook isn't just a few pages of paper but a significan cookbook. The machine is white and very attractive looking on my counter.

It measures 10 and one half inches wide by 13-inches deep by 6 and one half inches high. This is longer than the one we had so it extends on our countertop a bit more but not so much that it takes up a lot of room. It weighs about 9-pounds. It will cook 6 items, for example 3 chicken breasts and 3 burgers versus 4 items on our previous one.

My new George Foreman has a 9-inch square non-stick cooking surface, which is die cast aluminum perhaps not the best on which to cook but we pick our battles.

Both the top and bottom grills on this heat up and cook the food quickly. We take food right out of the freezer and cook it. Truly it is used almost daily. Last night we took out turkey dogs heated up the grill which takes about five minutes, put the dogs and they were ready in a flash and cooked really nicely. This is so much better than boiling them or using the microwave.

It has a sloped grill design that keeps the food above and away from grease and fat. It comes with two drip trays and a plastic spatula which is used both for cleaning the grill and flipping over the food. The grill space holds about 3 patties and 3 chicken breasts.

It is made of Phenolic which is a plastic molding material or type of resin.

The manufacturer is Salton and it is made in China.

The power output is 1,000 watts.

The negatives are that it has no timer or adjustable heat settings. There is a power light that comes on when it is plugged in and when it has heated up the power light goes off.

There is a 1-year warranty on the product.

It is very easy to clean. Unplug it of course and scrape off any pieces of food that may have stuck to the surface. Then I just wipe it down with a damp paper towel or sponge.
This is one of the easiest products I have had to clean.

I love it!

Although this is considered a family size we are happy with it for our daily needs though there are only two of us. When the kids come now  we can cook a meal at one time.
