This item is great.  Instead of doing just one thing it has multiple functions.  There is not much that you cannot cook on here. With the various combination of grill plates just about every cooking area is covered.  Much better function wise that the old grill only type. I def recommend this one.  I own this and our family uses it all the time.  It has a permamnent spot on the kitchen counter.  I tried putting it in the cabinet but it kept finding its way to the counter so now it just stays there.  One other perk of this item, with proper instruction this one is definately child friendly....my 12 year old uses it constantly.

I'll bet my boys would love this too. We are enjoying the small one, but this one sounds even better.
