My husband bought me the G-5 for Mother's Day (2006). I had asked for it for Christmas and my birthday, but he didn't think I was serious and didn't want to get in trouble for buying me a kitchen appliance. He needn't have worried. I absolutely love this appliance. We use it at least once a week. It's great for grilling chicken and hamburgers. We use the waffle iron on the weekends for a nice change from cereal. I love the interchangable plates. It's like having multiple appliances but only having to find room to store one. Living in the south, I love that it doesn't heat up the kitchen. Of course, watching the fat drain in to the vat makes me feel like I'm making the healthy choice for my family. The only drawback that I have found is that the "grilling" plate can be difficult to get fully clean. Sometimes sauces can get stuck in the grooves. We have remedied that by using a toothbrush to get in the grooves and get out the gunk.
