General Mills - Fiber One Oats & Chocolate Chewy Bars Review

In my never ending quest to get more fiber I have found a couple of snack bars that fulfill both my need to increase my fiber intake, and my need to satisfy my sweet tooth.  One of my favorites is General Mills Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Chewy Bars.

These yummy bars are a lot like chewy granola bars as far as size and shape are concerened.  The come 5 to a box.  You will find them in the grocery store around the cereal and granola bars.  The taste is a lot like eating a chewy granola bar as well, except these are a bit more chewy, and you can actually see and taste chocolate chips, yummy.

The General Mills Fiber On Oats & Chocolate Chewy Bars are one of the approved foods on the Best Life Diet list.  They pack in a whopping 9 grams of fiber per bar, There are 29 carbohydrates per bar, which does not make this a low carb snack, but the high fiber content, cancels out some of the carbs.  These bars have only 140 calories per bar and just .04% grams of fat. which makes them under 30% fat which is what should be the goal when choosing foods.  There is also .02% protein provided.  These bars actually have whole grain in them, which is what helps provide the fiber, but there is still some sugar and not so good stuff in them.

The bars provide .02% Vitamin A, 10% Calcium, and .02% iron.

These bars are not perfect nutritionally of course, but they are much better than similiar type bars that have less fiber.  They are also a million times better than eating a candy bar, and they are tasty and satisfying.

They cost around $2.99 a box which also makes them comparably priced.

 I really like the taste of the General Mills - Fiber One Oats & Chocolate Chewy Bars, and I really appreciate that they provide me with some extra fiber while satisfying my taste buds.
