Bottom-Line: Cheerios has found a place in the pantry. I like the whole grain goodness and the high fiber. I do not like the cost!
I am not a big cold cereal eater; I used to be, but not so much anymore. But the rest of my family eats cold cereal; they eat it every morning with the exception of weekends, that's when I cook. And when I do eat cereal it's usually a combination of Kellogg's Corn Flakes and Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran cereal. I buy General Mills Cheerios for the rest of the family, principally my daughter.
Cheerios is made with whole grains and according to the company "Cheerios is the only ready-to-eat cereal clinically proven to lower cholesterol when eaten as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol."
The cereal is a good source of whole grain, and high in fiber; a whopping 3 grams per serving. My daughter likes Cheerios in Original, Honey Nut, and Multi-Grain. The cereal comes in 9 varieties including:
Not all of the varieties may be available in your area, they aren't in mine. While all of the varieties I have bought are tasty, I am partial to Multi-Grain and Honey Nut; the cereal is sweet but not too sweet. I never have to add sugar.
