I have Geisinger Health Plan and would not wish this HORRIBLE Health Plan on anyone. My Doctors have requested different tests that were necessary for me this past year and Geisinger has REFUSED all of them. Their way around it is for you to APPEAL IT. Well, no doctor office wants to do additional paper work for this and if you need a test now most people with health problems can't wait for 6 months till an appeal goes through. Your only alternative seems to go to the Emergency Room and no one wants that, but how bad Geisinger is you have no choice. Hope this helps someone else so no one has to go through what I am going through. I can't wait till January when I can get rid of this HORRIBLE HEALTH COV ERAGE.

Geisinger Health Plan is a HMO to the Pennsylvania State.  Most people think it is owned by the Geisinger Health system but it is not they just have some rights to the name.  I have had this health insurance for the past 3 years.  However I have had this health insurance on an off for 10 yr's or so.  Again it is a HMO that covers 10 counties, and includes 100's of hospitals, over 100,000 physicians and specialists that you can see.  I didn't walk into a pharmacy yet that didn't accept my insurance yet.  I am not a healthy young person. I was born with an orthopaedic birth defect that requires a lot of care.  My out of pocket expenses are not that bad.  I only pay a $500 deductible for the year and then my copays are as follows.  family physician-$20.00 specialist-$30.00 physical therapy-$20.00 a visit medication is a 10/15/30 tier They rarely deny anything on your claims.  I mean I can't go and get 5 MRI'S a year.  I usually get 1 MRI a year for each part of my leg and at least 50 xrays as well.  Not one has been denied.  I have been hospitalized for seizures one time for 4days and I will be Blue Cross/Blue Shield in the area one of the "best" health insurances.  However I have better health coverage them my father who is battling stomach cancer right now.  If you ever move into Pennsylvania and into the Geisinger Health Plan coverage area.  I would highly recommend looking into this health coverage.  It maybe your lifesaver!!
