Geico Review Summary

Geico is a popular auto insurance company known for its advertisements that feature cavemen, lizards, and celebrities. But more than Geico’s advertisements, Geico is popular for its low prices and money saving discounts on car insurance. Reviews often point out the money saved by switching to Geico Auto Insurance and they like the great customer service and fast claims processing. “I Saved Over $500 on my Car Insurance”, raves one satisfied customer, and others have stressed their satisfaction in other ways. Individual savings amounts vary, but Geico Auto Insurance is certainly an Insurance Company to consider if saving money and quick claims processing are your primary goals.

I started with Geico when I was 25 years old and got a very good rate considering my age and being a male. In fact I actually had them longer because I had their affiliate company since I was 16. But then Geico only insured Government Employees, when they opened it for everyone I was switched to Geico.... review »

I was shopping around to be sure I had the best rate with my current insurance company.  I went online and did the Geico quote thing.  When I got the quote back I was amazed at how much I could save by switching to Geico.  Uh huh... right.

I started to take the next step and actually wanted...

Geico sure got it right with that gecko campaign. That gecko probably ranks up close to Santa Claus as far as recognition. I give credit where credit is due. Stroke of genius - that gecko.

I went with USAA for many years for car insurance and was always happy with them, but I thought maybe I could save a buck or two. Geico sounds like a great low cost alternative.

I called. No problems other than they could not cover my Harley. Bummer. They farmed that out to Progressive I think. Now I see on commercials that they cover motorcycles. I guess they listened when they called and asked why I switched...

As a 30 year old female, I've been insured with GEICO in one way or another for almost 15 years.  My parents have all of their vehicles insured with GEICO; and, as a result, when I began driving, I was added to the GEICO policy.  My good grades in high school earned my parents a discount on their insurance.  GEICO has been there for my family through all of the car tragedies we've experienced.  In 1999, my dad was hit by another motorist and his car was totalled.  In less than 2 days he had a rental car and in less than 2 weeks had received his check and was driving a new car.  When my car... review »

Bottom-Line: Like I stated from the outset, insurance is a necessary evil, but so far we have been in good hands with GEICO Insurance Co

For automobile insurance we used to be covered by Allstate Insurance Co., a concern we have been doing business with for the last 12 or so years.  But the "Good Hands" people kept raising my rates every time my policy came up for renewal.  My automobile insurance was going up on average of $25.00 every six months.  This was the case despite that fact that my driving record is spotless and has been for the last 7 years; no accidents, moving violations, or...

My wife and I had been Geico customers for the better part of 20 years.  And, through all those years we found a lot to like about this company.

Customer service had always been responsive and little extras like their affordable automobile repair insurance policies had worked well for us.

But over the years I had begun to feel that their rates were becoming less competitive.  Both of us had flawless driving records and our Florida Driver's Licenses designated us a "Safe Drivers".

On more than a few occasions, usually around renewal time I suggested we shop around.  But Mrs. Xeno is nothing, if...

I have been a customer of Geico for 8 years now and I can't tell you how much I save each year of having a good driving history.  I would recommend this insurance to everyone.

My brother has Geico auto insurance and his truck was stolen out of a mall parking lot, he was never behind on any payments or had any troubles at the time this happened. It has been about 3 months since it has happened and Geico has done nothing to help him out and actually are trying to blame my brother for false theft.  My brother LOVED his truck and cried when the police found it burned out in a field. Shame on Geico for not being behind my brother after this devestating loss.  Isn't that what he paid for?

I have had Geico for many years. It is light years better than the slimy greedy scumbags at Allstate and others.

Geico is straightforward and usually has the best rates. That and the fact that you never have to deal with an insurance agent makes Geico great.

I have had several minor claims over many years and the repairs and claims are always dealt with fairly and effeciently. No substandard body shops using knockoff Chinese parts required.

I have stuck with them for many years in several states and have always felt good about them. It is possible that some other company has a rate a few dollars...

I've had Geico for about 9 years now. I've thought about switching, but can't find any other insurance that's as cheap as them for the coverage I want. I travel a lot so my insurance tends to be a little higher than others, but Geico offers competitive rates.

2 years ago I had my car stolen and for the most part Geico worked well. They are able to email documents to you so that you don't have to wait for anything in the mail. It's sometimes a little tedious to have to go through all the operators before you find who you need - the times when having an agent might work better - but overall, I think...

We switched from Allstate to Geico a little over a year ago and have been very pleased with how much money we were able to save by making the switch. My family is on a fixed income which means a VERY tight budget and this has helped us tremendously. We only own one vehicle- a used one, and we own it outright; therefore we choose to put the least amount of coverage on it that we can. I shopped around and even tried to get Allstate (I'd been a customer of their's for over 20 years) to match Geico's price - but they wouldn't.

I have not, however, had the experience of actually having to file any sort...

I've been using Geico since I started driving as a teen ohhh 20-some years ago? I have never had a problem or complaint with their service.

Whenever I have needed them, there is a representative on the other end of the line immediately with answers and help. I don't even remember ever having to wait on hold.

Forgot your insurance card and need one faxed to the mechanic/inspection station/government office? Sure! Within seconds, it's on its way. Lost your cards and need new ones? Sure! In less than a week, they're in our mailbox. Need to add or cancel a policy? Sure! Even on the cancellations,...

A couple years ago, our family switched to Geico Car Insurance.  Between my husband and I have we have tried several car insurance companies from State Farm to Erie Insurance and Nationwide, and as a paralegal long ago and far away I had to wheel and deal with many a car insurance company to get claims paid after an auto accident.

I apologize for sounding like a Geico ad . . . and Trace Adkins is one of my favorite music artist -- and he rocked in Celebrity Apprentice so he would be my choice.

Driving to pick up my babysitter I was in a hit and run.

A very nice person with two big dogs in her...

I was with them for 1 year. I went with them because they were the cheapest I could find.

8 months ago I got into a car accident. My accident as a backing up accident. They did not fight for me or try to help me. They basically told me straight out there was nothing I could do about it. The next bill my car insurance goes up 120%. I contact them to find out why. They say it is because I lost my good driver standing and because of the accident. I was on a pre-pay policy so I switched to Progressive because they gave me a better rate than I had with Gieco, even before the accident. I called them to...

I have had car insuranced with Geico for 39 years. I started with them as a teenager and have continued to be a loyal Geico customer. I have had a car stolen, damaged and found; damage to my car by an out of state driver (when I was not in the car); 'parking lot damage' by someone who drove away; glass damaged and replaced; and 2 accidents during my years with Geico. Each time I needed them, Geico representatives were very helpful and efficient. My car was repaired to my satisfaction and always in a timely manner! Also, their automobile insurance rates are lower than anyone else I have found!...
