At a recent geek anonymous meeting a breakthrough occurred: "Hello, my name is Bubba and I [heavy sigh] am a Geek. It started the first time I saw Star Wars..."
The difference between a Geek and a Nerd is small but important. Geeks are into cooler things. This is a magazine that is all about what self-admitted open and closet geeks are interested in. Computers, Star Wars, video games, space, movies, TV, comics, DVDs and gadgets are all covered in this magazine.
The fourth issue has an interview with Greg Grunberg of Heroes fame (with a cover photo of him in a storm trooper costume), several short articles on the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, several Q&A type articles with various Geek worthy people, and short reviews on movies, DVDs, games, comics, books, and music. There are also short mini-articles and sidebars through out the magazine.
One thing that struck me as weird was the issues I have seen have a fashion type article like women's magazines; a model dressed in various outfits with the location the clothing was purchased at and the price. It was pointed out to me that this article is for women geeks (and cross-dressing geeks) so now it makes sense (thanks Nicole).
Overall I like this magazine because the editors are Geeks, like me.
