I wish I knew about these guys (Geek Available) before I went to the only place I knew to go - Geek Squad.  Not to say anything bad about Geek Squad, but there's also definitely something to say for knowledgable, kind, helpful people who will not only spend more time with you and on your computer, but charge less.  I've gone to them twice.  Once, when my boyfriend erased something trying he thought he didn't need (but ended up being critical) to clean up his computer.  The other time I took my old computer's Hard Drives (it crashed but Geek Squad said the HD's were fine) for them to transfer the info onto my new computer.  Unfortunately, they were unable to recover the data - it turned out the HD were badly damaged.  Since the only other option was going to a data recovery company that costs thousands & they sincerely wanted to help me they kept my HD's and did everything they could to get my data back at no add'l charge (unless they actually recovered the data).  Even though I only paid the inital fee, they spent weeks trying to figure it out and do what they could.  Since the info on those HD's are important to me and I am looking into the data recovery, they advised me to be careful of data recovery companies since they know people are desperate & have lost important/critical info.  They even said I could call them for advice and run what the companies were saying by them to ensure I wasn't being taken advantage of.  Even though they weren't able to recover my data, I feel they went above and beyond of what their job entailed and will continue to go to them and recommend them to others.  From my two experiences, I can say they were extremely knowledgable (I also called around before I went to them), friendly & professional, & I truly feel they are honest people who are trying to do their job and help people (for a decent price too!).  You won't have to worry about being taken advantage of financially just because you don't understand computers.
