A fantastic bride camera, does more than a point and shoot without all the bells and whistles of the DSLR. I found this camera to be convenient for just about any lighting and skill level, my four year old son can take a crisp clear image just as easily as I can.

I received this camera as a gift from my husband last Christmas and it has become my favorite toy. From taking pictures and videos of my kids, pictures of my flower beds and for use at PTO events, I love it and it has yet to let me down! Image Quality This camera takes fantastic pictures, but you do need to "do your homework" on the appropriate settings for maximum picture quality. Performance I love the way you can set this camera to your own preferences! I like to have the options available for on time, picture size/resolution and display. Ease of Use I have had some trouble navigating through the settings, but it is not that hard to figure everything out. Durability Now, let me just say that I keep my favorite toy out of the reach of little hands, but I do have a special needs child in the house who has gotten his hands on it a couple times. I retrieved it quickly of course, but it was no worse for the experience! Battery Life The only thing I would change? I would put a rechargeable battery pack on it instead of requiring batteries for operation. I use re-chargeables, but if I didn't, I would be spending a fortune on batteries! Portability I purchased a camera bag for my camera, but it did come with it's own neck/shoulder strap - very nice accessory.

I had been using the same camera for about five years, and was hesitant to replace it because it still worked, and took okay pictures. My wife wanted a new camera, and since we were expecting our 3rd child, we decided to go ahead and buy one. My brother in law had a very nice DSLR that he let us borrow to try out. It took nice pictures, but had so many bells and whistles that made it a little hard to use. We didn't need all the features, since we just wanted something to take pictures of our family activities. We found the GE X5, and did some reseach on it. The reviews were mixed, but it sounded like it would work for us. It's fulfilled our expectations. We use it very frequently, and are happy with the pictures it takes. It has many features that we haven't even used yet, but we like knowing they are there if we need them. It's a very sturdy camera, and we like the fact that it takes regular AA batteries so they are easy to replace if needed.

I bought this camera to replace my old nikon coolpix l20.  It is an amazing camera.  The number of megapixels(14) is high enough that you don't lose any resolution when you need to make enlargements.  The pictures are very clear, and you can adjust the resolution on the camera.  I always shoot on the highest setting.  I would like to note that the picture that I am seeing on viewpoints in incorrect.  The actual camera is black and resembles a dslr, although it is not.  The zoom is amazing.  Fifteen times is a great number to have, because you can get closer to the action.  The awesome image stabilasation also helps in taking a clear shot.  I got a great deal on this camera from amazon, so if you want to buy one, chech there.  My bottom line:  the x5 is an inexpensive camera that can shoot like a pro.  You can have even more individuality if you learn to use the manual settings.  You will not be disappointed with this camera.

The pics for this digital camera are quite clear and sharp! I do find myself having to learn how to focus it and use all the features towards its full capacity, etc. however, I have thus far gotten some really good/clear shots from this camera.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Over all I am very pleased with this camera and its use for me as an amateur photographer on the way up to hopefully becoming one of the great ones *smiles*                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Dont get me wrong as this may not be the best camera out there but considering its price range and the quality of the pics I already took and developed, its rocks for me.
