This microwave looks good and performs well. It is under our cabinets and over our range and the black color adds a nice touch w/ our black dishwasher and the black portions of our range. The buttons are large, easy to read, and include the basic operations (kitchen timer, cook time, defrost option, and a preset popcorn button. There is also the feature of a vent (with high and low settings) and a surface light (shines down on the range top which is nice for cooking). The cooking power of this microwave is also great - it does not easily overcook food but it is definitely efficient. The inside is fairly roomy although it could have a bit for height for my liking.

I was fortunate that I did not have to deal with searching for and purchasing another microwave for my home as we moved in a few years ago. There was already a GE profile in the house and we were able to begin enjoying it immediately. Some of the features that we are taking advantage of include the defrost, preset cook settings, multiple shelf levels, and rotating tray for food items. We are also able to avoid having a secondary hood for the stove since this unit had the oven light, fan and hood capabilities that are needed. I have been pleased with most of the functioning of the unit to include the ability to defrost and assist in the preparation of foods from the freezer to the microwave oven. I have also liked the cooking controls and the multi-positional shelf for thorough food preparation. The only drawback that I have experienced with the unit has to do with the aspect of drawing smoke out of a room of there is a spill in the standard oven or overheating of other food items that required that the range hood remove the smoke and odors. There has not been adequate suctioning of air of the room. I otherwise find this unit to be invaluable.

Thiis an awful product.When I first started using it I thought it was great.And it is as far as cooking.But after about two months the inside part of the glass on the door looked liked it was smoked up.The repairman came out and said something must have gotten between the glass as it was being made and he replaced the door.Well about two months later the door looks smoked up again and it just stays that way because you cant get it off,*it obiviously has some kind of defect.*

The GE Profile Spacemaker Microwave and Range Hood has a nice sleek design.  Since the range hood is built in there is no unsightly range hood sticking out over my cooktop.  This also eliminates bumping your head on the range hood while using the microwave.  The microwave is very convenient since it has several pre-set buttons for popcorn, beverages, potatoes, etc.  There is also an auto-defrost setting which comes in handy.  This microwave has a turntable, but there is a button to turn off the turntable, for example, if you have a rectangular dish that is too large to turn.   The GE Profile KL 1800 Microwave is spacious.  It has one-touch sensor buttons. It is easy to clean both the surface and the inside. The GE Profile Microwave has many features,  there are options to change the beeper volume,and there are express cook buttons, and a reminder to change the charcoal filter.  There is an over the stovetop light and a night light.

The Spacemaker XL1800 fits perfectly in my kitchen with my other stainless steel appliances.  It is a powerful appliance with a convenient venting system that opens and closes at the top.  It heats food quickly and evenly and its modern design is quite attractive to top it all off.
