One of the great things about water, is that they have come out with a million different flavors from a million different companies. We no longer have to worry about just drinking plain old water, because they have spruced it up with so many new versions that contain lots of important vitamins and minerals. Water is no longer boring, and capturing a lot of that audience is Propel. Propel is a fitness water produced by the Gatorade company, with the intent of cornering a new market. A lot of people opt out of sports drinks, because they just contain too many sugars, and it ends up being a detractor if you are trying to lose weight or just don't want all that sugar. So, they decided that there was an open niche in the market, and with full force went after it. As a result they were able to snatch me up in part, along with millions of other people.
If you haven't heard of Propel, it is a product that is sold in nearly all grocery stores now. You will find it on the same isles as bottled water and soda pop most of the time, and at the Albertson's where I buy mine, you can normally find it on sale near the front of the store. They have recently been doing a 10 bottles for $10.00 special, so I have picked up a couple of the new flavors that I had not tried before. Those new flavors to me are the Berry and Grape versions of Propel. Currently they sell Propel in 7 different flavors that include melon, lemon, peach, kiwi-strawberry, black cherry, and the berry and grape options. With the exception of the lemon one, I have liked every other flavor I have tried. The lemon ones seemed a little acidy to me, so after trying it twice, and having not enjoyed either one, I moved away, and on to the other flavors.
In the stores that I go to, I see the Propel sold in the 500ml 6 packs, or by itself in a 700ml bottle. The 700ml single bottles are what I buy for myself. They come with a nice pull-up lid, which lets you spray the water into your mouth. It is really nice for when you are doing some sort of work out (like a walk or job), because then you don't have to struggle with unscrewing a lid to make sure that you are getting enough water out. The bottle has a nice grip to it, by inlaying some of the siding of the plastic in grooves, and that makes it easier to carry when you are heading out. I really like that as one of the benefits of the bottle. The other reason, is that Propel adds a lot of taste to my water drinking. It does so by adding some vitamins to my intake at the same time, which makes it even more of a benefit to me.
Some of the ingredients that they put in Propel include essential vitamins B for aiding in energy and the metabolism, as well as antioxidant Vitamins C & E to help neutralize free radicals. These are important tools to living a healthy (and long) life, so it is important that you find some way to replenish them after you have worked out. By having something as easy as Propel handy, it becomes simpler for an athlete to replenish all of the necessary tools that help to aid your body do its job. I can vouch for the water fulfilling a lot of those needs, and when I can get it for only $1.00 a bottle, I feel like I am making out like a bandit. Don't be fooled into thinking you are receiving any fruit juices in the Propel though, because there aren't any listed in the ingredients.
Propel is one of those options out there to help that person on the go gain an added advantage in taking care of their body. We already need at least 8 glasses of water a day when we aren't exercising, and when we sweat off a lot of it, it becomes a much needed requirement to replenish everything that we use. Some people really like to go with drinks lie Gatorade and PowerAde, but I have grown past needing the high amounts of sugar, and it has simply stopped tasting good to me. In fact, it has started tasting like I am drinking pop after exercising. Now, drinking water has been made a lot easier with Propel, and their goal of hydrating us while giving us some essential vitamins. A crisp, cool bottle of Propel can really hit the spot, and I highly recommend it to people that are going to be doing anything strenuous. You can either drink it before you head out, during your activity, or as a resource when you are done. Any way you drink it, I think that the Propel is going to "propel" you through your daily routine.
