I love a gas range!

Pros

    cost effective, Can use when electric goes out, Gas saves on electric bill, Gas saves time..Heats b etter and faster

Cons
    harder to clean than a flat surface stov, Both have good and bad points

There is nothing better than a quality gas range. When cooking on the top burners you are always in control of the heat.  Flat top electric stoves may be easier to clean, but they are much more difficult to regulate the heat with.  Gas stoves are much more economical as well.
