I have tried several of both & I have to go with the electric!  My parents bought their first electric stove (a GE) in the mid 60's & when I bought their house from them in 1989 the stove went with the house.  When I sold that house in 1998 the stove went with the house and was still going strong! (It was avocado! LOL)  I now have a GE porcelain top stove & am very pleased with it also.  There are no pilot lights to go out, no drip trays to absorb grease & bacteria & it is much easier to clean!

I remember avocado appliances. Back in the 70's neighbors had the stove and matching fridge. I can see why you chose electric. Liked your review.
