Garnier Fructis Blowdry Perfector is HORRIBLE!!!

1

I used the Garnier Fructis Style Sleek Shine Blowdry Perfector a couple months ago in October, and I wish I hadn't. I tried it because it claimed that it would smooth my hair and make blowouts a lot easier. This was all a lie. The product says to put the first step on your hair and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing. I had it on for minutes, and my hair smelled like something was burning. I rinsed it out immediately! The texture was horrible. Wet, my hair felt like the stringy texture of the stuff in corn husks. It was stretchy like bubble gum and was breaking off like crazy. Dry it was all knotty and dry like straw. It looked like a negro afro. My hair was down my back,  almost to my waist, and I had to go into a salon to get it chopped off. I ended up having to get my hair cut off up to my chin. The people at the salon told me that this product is a perm solution and that it will do mild to severe damage to most people's hair. I had silk treatments every week since, and my hair is still really dry and breaks pretty easily. When I contacted Garnier Fructis about this situation, all they did was offer a trial size sample of conditioner. I will never buy a Garnier Fructis product again.

HORRIBLY DAMAGED MY HAIR!!!

1

I used this product approximately 6 months ago, and I am still dealing with the damaging effects this product caused. My hair was NOT damaged before using this product. I used the product exactly as described. First, the smell is AWFUL. I kept it on for the time recommended. Immediately, while washing it out in the shower, my hair felt very very thin and fragile. I still continued with the rest of the process (hair straightner). The next day my hair was a huge frizzy, burnt, damaged mess. And tons of my hair began to fall out! I started using lots of products from Sally Beauty and salons to try and repair the damage, but no matter what I used, it didn't help at all. It took approximately 1 month before the frizzy, damaged look began to appear "decent". I would still continue to lose lots of hair in the shower and when brushing. I got my hair cut very short (chin length) to get rid of some of the damage after a month of being unable to do any repair. I still continued to lose hair for the next 3 months. Now, 6 months later, my hair is ALMOST back to the state it was in before I used this horrible product. Do not be fooled by this product, it is very harsh and can be very damaging on your hair!!!

Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Blow Dry Perfector helps!

4

I normally get keratin treatments from my stylist every few months.  I had a special event coming up, and I was overdue for another treatment.  My stylist did not have an open appointment on short notice, so I bought Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Blow Dry Perfector from the drugstore.  I carefully followed the directions, and I loved the immediate results.  After application, rinsing, blowdrying, and flat-ironing, my hair was soft, sleek, and easily manageable.  Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Blow Dry Perfector barely lasted the seven shampoos that it claims to, but it did very well in a pinch.  This would be a nice product for someone to try for a simple make-over without a commitment.  I would recommend this to a friend.

Blow dry pefector...not even close to perfect

2

I received a Garnier Fructis Blow Dry Perfector as part of a BzzAgent kit to try out. It claims to make your hair frizz free and easier to blow dry/style for up to 7 washes. I had high hopes for this product, but was pretty disappointed. You have to follow two different steps, first apply a serum to wet hair, leave it in for 20 minutes, rinse it out and then apply a cream. The serum is very runny and hard to tell exactly where you are applying it in your hair. And it smells horrible! After waiting the twenty minutes, I rinsed it out and applied the cream, it immediately seemed to weigh my hair down. After blow drying and flat ironing my hair, it looked very oily and I ended up having to wear my hair in a pony tail anyways because it just looked terrible. After I washed it again, it seemed to not be so oily and it did help dry my hair faster and less frizzy for a wash or two. It did not last nearly the seven washes that it claims though, my hair was back to normal after about three. I definitely would not recommend this product, it takes too much time to apply the serum/cream and is too expensive for the results that you actually get.

Garnier Sleek and Shine

3

**I just bought and tried Garnier Sleek and Shine for the first time. It's not exactly what I was hoping for. It didn't really meet my expectations.  After you shampoo your hair, you are supposed to put the step one treatment in your hair. It claims there is only a slight odor, but there is nothing slight about it; it was really strong! I would suggest you leave the door open, or open a window or something, because it will definately take your breath away. After 30 min. you can rinse it out, the smell lasted about 3 days on my hair though. My hair is very curly, and it seemed not to keep it straight very long, only 4 days. I was my hair every other day, so that's only two washes. I luckily didn't pay to much for it because I had a coupon, but otherwise I personally think it is over priced. Especially for what it is; I mean it doesn't last that long, and my hair is short so to me that makes it even worse. **

Works!

Not a fan of the first steps scent the second step doesn't seem like it has enough product in it for those with thicker, longer, and curly hair. But onto what makes it a great product, Drying time is cut in half or less. I didn't think it wouldn't take very long to blow dry it. When I used the flat iron, I didn't have to keep going over my hair to make it slick straight.

I give this product 2 thumbs down and a certain finger up.

Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Blow Dry Perfector is anything but perfect. This is a two step system to defrizz the hair. This product is not and does not straighten the hair. The first step has to be evenly applied to the hair and left to sit for twenty tortuous minutes. The first step has an awful smell that makes leaving it on for twenty minutes nearly unbearable.Step two is applied in much the same fashion and smells a lot better. In my opinion I wasted over twenty minutes of my time and the money that I paid for this product. The final result was my hair had slightly less frizz..I could and do use a frizz serum that takes no time at all to apply and does a heck of a lot better job. This product is supposed to be gentle on your hair. The smell of it and the way it leaves your hair is a good indication that it is not very gentle at all.The product claims the results last seven shampoos .The minimal results I saw lasted a total of four shampoos.

Smells Bad But WORKS!

In the future, I'm sure Garnier will improve the formula to something that smells better. I'm gonna keep this on hand for the future, and for those special weeks when I want perfectly straight, smooth hair. My hair is a combination of textures with the front sort of like 1/2A, 2B/2C in the lower back, and 2C/3A on the crown. My hair is three different textures and half straight, and half curly. So, it's a pain deciding to go either curly or straight. Anyway, this stuff neutralized all the 2's and 3's and my hair is pin straight with ZERO frizz. I didn't follow the directions exactly either. I did not wash first. I put the 20 minute serum on. I rinsed once with water, and then applied Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine conditioner. I washed my scalp with my hands but did not apply shampoo to hair strands. I waited for my hair to reach damp stage and used the Sleek and Shine Leave In Conditioner. I, then, waited for my hair to reach damp stage again, and then applied the perfect it cream. I let my hair air dry.  The next morning, my hair was extremely soft and straight on the crown and in the front, with curls at the bottom (very cute). Still, I wanted to see the straight results and WOW! STRAIGHT! SILKY! SMOOTH!  I did not use a blow drier, but I only used the titanium flat iron at about 300 degrees. Yes, it smells bad but it works. My hair looks like one of those ads and I love it! Just in time for the holidays! Also, my hair is down to pointiest part of my should blades and I did not use the entire tubes, as some did. One does not need to use all the product for it to work. Just coat the hair with enough 20 minute cream and enough perfect it cream. There's enough product to last for three months, if one uses it once per week, rather than using the entire tube in one sitting (which is pointless and a waste of money).

LOVE my hair when I use Garnier Sleek n Shine Blow Dry Perfector

5

I had some coupons to try this product.  I was unsure at first because what really works on frizz?  I have the type of hair that must be blown out in order to look pretty.  Some straight sections, some wavy, and curly right in the front!  So, after trying this easy to use product I was so happy with the results.  My hair was soft and smooth just like they promised!  A few days after using the product I was walking around NYC in cold wet weather and my hair did not end up looking horrible as usual.  I would recommend this product to anyone who has wavy and slightly frizzy hair.  Of course I don't know how it would work on curly or very frizzy hair but, I say give it a try.  I love it!  The only downside was that it was stinky when I put it on but, the next step smelled good so the stink washed out.
