Out of all the dyes that Garnier offers, this is by far my favorite. I chose a burgundy color when I used this to dye my hair and I was happy with the results. The color was very rich and vibrant, which is something I look for when I dye my hair with red hues. This dye also lasted for a very long time. It was almost nine weeks before I felt that I needed to dye my hair again. The gripes I had with Garnier's 100% Color Permanent Intense Gel Cream Color are few, but they are still big ones. The scent of this dye is very pungent. It definitely smelled like I was just in a hair salon getting chemicals put on my hair. I really did not like that part at all. It took almost three days before that scent dissipated from my hair. Also, I noticed that this dye made my hair a little brittle. A lot of other dyes that I have used have actually made my hair feel softer, but this one did not. My hair felt dryer and I had to use more conditioner for damaged hair to restore some of the moisture. I am on the fence about whether I would try this dye again.

I have tried almost all of the red shades that Garnier 100% Color Permanent Intense Gel Cream makes. This is a very high quality hair coloring product! The smell of the dye is tolerable. I did not feel sick from the smell. The color always turned out like the picture on the box! It is very vibrant and rich. It also makes hair very shiny. I also found it to be long-lasting. Effectiveness Color matched the picture on the box. I knew exactly how my hair would turn out! The colors are so rich and luxurious.

I've been using this product for years and I'm very happy with it. It's easy to mix and apply, doesn't smell quite as bad as some others hair colorings, and the color is vibrant and long lasting. In fact it stays so vibrant, that when I need a touch-up, I mix a little of the colorant and the creme in a little bowl and only do the roots. I can get four or five touch-ups out of one box and it still looks great. (I do use a shampoo for color treated hair, so maybe that helps. But my daughter uses a different shampoo and her color still stays very well.) Using less of the product allows me to rinse it out much faster too. No more standing in the shower hoping to finish before I run out of hot water. I've tried tried other brands in the past and none of them were as good as Garnier 100%. I found other brands faded too quickly and were unreliable as far as exactly what color they would come out. I'm sticking with Garnier 100%.

The application process is very easy. There is not anything hard about it, all you have to do is mix the products that they give you in the box and apply. Make sure that you use some kind of cream or vaseline around your hairline so that the color does not stay on your skin. It might be hard to get out after. The results are really good, the color turns out great!! I always use this dye and I am always satisfied with the color that comes out. BUT the only downside is that after a few weeks the color washes out. At least that is what I have noticed with my hair. after a few washes and a few weeks the color washes out. Although this isn't that bad because on the bright side you do not have to deal with roots and constant re-dying. So in general I would say that for some people this could be a plus. Ease of Application There is nothing complicated or hard. I think compared to other hair dyes that I have tried this is one of the easiest applications.

When it comes to hair color, I like to have dye that is highly pigmented, does not stain the skin severely, yet brings high intense natural looking color. One of the best lines of hair color I have ever used is Garnier 100% Color. No matter what color I used from it, the results were nothing short of fantastic. I can not recommend this hair dye series enough- it is THAT good. Effectiveness I have used a wide variety of colors in the Garnier 100% Color line from ultra high lift blonde, to red to dark brown and even black. In each case, the colors turned out just as stated on the box- and sometimes even nicer. The ultra lift blondes were the only blondes from the drug store that actually left the hair a perfect blonde with no brassiness or orange tones. The reds were brilliant with long lasting color that looked natural and vibrant. The browns were pure toned with lots of color that looked multi-tonal and natural. Hair was left in excellent condition and didn't look dull or lifeless when faded. The hair conditioner given in the box lasts a very long time so that it helps to lock the hair color in for even longer. It leaves hair shiny and soft and also makes the color look even more intense. Ease of Application The kit comes with great gloves and excellent conditioner. The dye was easy to mix, kept thick so that it stays in the hair nicely. The scent was also really nice and there was not burning on the scalp or excessive staining of the skin. The ultra lift blondes are also fantastic with extra lifting powder that works beautifully and quickly.

Garnier 100% Color alwasy covers all of my gray while leaving my hair looking silky and shiny. I have to color frequently as my natural color is now pure white and this alwasy does a beautiful job even when only using it to touch up my roots.  Teh medium brown color is closest to my former natural color so it always looks just right, not to dark or too brassy.

So I'm skeptical about using new at home hair coloring products. I've been burned (literally and figuratively) before. Also, my hair is rather long and requires two boxes of dye most time, so price is certainly an issue.So I was more than mildly surprised when not only did I get a good price, but also required only one box of coloring to get all of my mop done...I also have an issue with color lasting, and the color lasted longer than the product I was previously using.

**Quick View**: I highlight and color and mess with my hair a lot. I use lots of different hair colors and recently gave **Garnier 100% Color Permanent Intense Gel Cream Color Medium Brown 501 **a try. It was fine but didn't last longer than about three weeks before roots started to show through. **My Experience with the Product** So, I admit, I highlight my hair, I color it whatever color I happen to feel like (besides blonde, that would damage it for life) and I have some grey coming in. I generally only do the roots now because the ends have sucked up so much color that they are much darker than my original medium/dark brown shade. I used **Garnier 100% Color Permanent Intense Gel Cream Color Medium Brown 501** and, while it is easy to use, it didn't have the lasting power I need. This color comes boxed and you have to squeeze the color into the white applicator bottle and shake to mix. Then you apply as you would any hair color. The scent isn't too bad and the color isn't drippy. It covers my roots well. I wait longer than I am supposed to because my roots are stubborn! They are lighter brown than the rest of my hair and have some grey and boy, do they resist color. When I rinse and apply the included conditioner, I am happy. But three weeks later, I am not happy. My roots are already in need of a touch up. This isn't the only hair color to fade quickly on me. I don't know why I can't get color to stay on the full six to eight weeks it claims it will. But this one does tend to fade very quickly. It doesn't damage my hair and I want to use it but I need something that will last for a while so I am not touching up every 20 or 21 days. I hate to do it as it is. I would go crazy trying to keep up with my roots every three weeks. **My Viewpoint** This is good hair color that probably works best for all over hair application. I use it just on my roots because my hair is saturated with old color plus it's highlighted and I don't want to lose those. The process is simple and it smells decent. It doesn't drip like many others. But the lasting power isn't there. I can't get past three weeks without roots peeking through and that's just not acceptable. I don't have time to keep reapplying color that often.*** 3 stars.*** I do recommend it because everyone is different. It may work well for all over application. I know I have very stubborn roots and they resist even salon color so I can't really tell you not to try it. It has some good aspects to it and it doesn't seem to be damaging. It's inexpensive too!
