Having a GPS has been great.....We use ours mostly for road trips and vacations.  It is very helpful when we are in an area where we do not know our way around.  The Garmin nuvi is a great GPS, it is an average GPS, not the top of the line but not the cheapest either.  It gives directions, gives your...

The Garmin Nuvi is the only navigation system I've ever used, so it's hard to compare. Personally, I enjoy having it around, it definitely comes in handy at the least expected times. It has been about 80% accurate in giving me directions to places. A couple of time I have entered an address and it took...

                                                         ME AND MY GARMIN

I've been in the roofing business now for over 30 years. And in those 30 years I have gotten lost many times trying to find a  address. Oh, lol I live in Miami, Fl. This town has gotten really huge. I bet I have at least 4 different address books with maps inside my truck. Even with those I still got lost. And believe me I do know witch way north and south is.It got so bad that I had to pull over several times because I was so mad.One day I was talking to a friend...

I had recently moved from the west coast to the east coast never being in that location before.  I was getting lost all the times.  The roads are so terribly marked.  I then started paying attention to what I was hearing about GPS units and had heard that Garmin is the best brand out there.  I was unemployed upon arrived to the east coast but it was around the holidays and I had seen the Garmin GPS units were less than $100 on the day after Thanksgiving sale so there I went at 5am down to the local WalMart with the other 5000 or so people that were there in this very same store so early in...

i bought this for my husband in july for our aniversary, we have used this numorous times. i would say it is marriage saver..  we used to always argue when we would go on trips and he would try and have me read the map. he would get so fustrated. this is a gem just plug it in and enter your destination and away you go. we used this in milwaukee and it got us straight to our hotel and to the ball fields. i kind of had a hard time naviaging us to the field of dreams in iowa. not sure why,  maybe is was us it took us across town before out into the country where the field is. but we did get there....

I bought my Garmin  Nuvi earlier this year paying about 250.00. We use it on long trips. We have completely quit useing Mapquest. Several times we used the Nuvi for emergency situations. We are now able to travel in any towns or cities without the fear of getting lost. In fact it is impossible to get lost. Sometimes we try to get lost on purpose. Last week I traveled to Cincinnati to see a major league baseball game.It was so easy to go back and forth to the games. After showing it to my cousin who I stayed with, he ended up buying a Garmin Nuvi also. He loves his. Another feature we love is the...

I was never good with directions, but once I had kids I was horrible.  There were way too many distractions in the car to pay attention to where I was  going and how to get there.  We originally got the Garmin nuvi because we like to travel and we thought it would make roadtrips more enjoyable, but I use it everywhere I go now.  We did a lot of researching gps devices and decided that we wanted one that had turn by turn voice command as well as a legitimate warning for when your next turn was coming.  The garmin nuvi had both of these features as well as a touch screen and an...

My husband is a truck driver and he owns a Garmin Nuvi 205W and he swears by it. We just recently moved from my home state of Ohio to his home state of Mississippi. He stays out 5 weeks at a time. He figured since he is hardly home that I need a navagation system to find my way around. I was apprehensive at first. I don't adapt well to modern technology sometimes. But I can honestly say that its the best investment I think we have ever made. I can go explore anywhere and not have to worry about finding my way home or getting lost trying to find where I am going. I love the feature that you can...

I am reviewing the Garmin Nuvi GPS navigating system.  This is a necessary device for anyone who does any traveling.  It gives you turn-by-turn directions and continues to direct you even when you missed a turn.  One of the best features is the points of interest.  If you are in a town and, like me, need to find a specific gas station (because that is the credit card that I have), you input the name of the station and Nuvi looks for it and then gives you the turn-by-turn directions to get there.  Also is the lookup for a food place.  It allows you to search by type of food (American, Mexican,...

Since I am technically challanged I had pretty much decided that I would not be getting a GPS device because I figured that I would never be able to figure it out. When I decided to drive across country from Illinois to California a friend lent me his Garmin GPS because he was very concerned that I would get lost and end up in Rhode Island or worse. I relunctantly took the device and was extemely amazed at how easy it was not only to program, but to use in general. I found the Garmin Nuvi very helpful in helping me to find all of the freeway on ramps and off ramps that can sometimes be tricky...

I absolutely love my Garmin GPS system.  It is my best buddy when I drive anywhere new or someplace I am not very familiar with.  The display is large enough to easily view while driving when mounted in the center of the front window.  Addresses can be saved in your favorite locations.  The audio directions are clear, understandable and given at the appropriate time.  There are different voices and accents to choose from.  When you arrive at a saved address, the audio tells you the name of the location that you have arrived at.

The user interface is good, but I think it could be a little...

GARMIN nuvi GPS

I used my daughters GPS yesterday to take her to the DR.  I had no idea where I was going but this little gadget, attached to my windshield with a suction cup was a Godsend.

I'm a sixty year old granny, and even I could figure out the basics.  This product is so easy to use.  It has very clear pictures and the arrows show you which way to turn.  This paticular model told me how fast I was going, how far to my next turn, and what time I would arrive at my destination.

I don't know much about it yet, But I know I HAVE to get me one!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot...

i got this gps before I moved from new jersey to arizona. It was the best gift I received.  It got me to arizona with no problems.  I found alot of places to see on the trip out here.  Once I got to arizona, I found all the local attractions.  It was my lifesaver.  I tell everyone it is my third child.  It is the easiest to use and always gets me to where I need to be.  I love the way you can search for anything in all of the cities around where I live.all you need to do is type in the street address and it gets you where you need to been.  I love the way I can plug in on my computer and...

Gone are the days of using mapquest!  No more printing directions to the hotel, then from the hotel to a restaurant, then back to the hotel, and so on.  My Garmin Nuvi is a life saver, as well as a time savor.  We often travel out of state to visit family, and my husband travels for work.  The Nuvi has always led us to our destination.  The only times we have not made it, is because of human error, we thought that it was taking us the wrong way.  We have learned to just trust it.  The only con I can think of is when you are getting on a tollway.  It doesn't tell you which direction to go. ...

I recently was planning a vacation with my husband who was stationed on Active Duty Army at Aberdeen proving grounds near Baltimore, MD.  My brother in law was going to help us navigate the Washington DC area, but something came up and he was unable to be there the day we were going.  So my sister offered to let me borrow her Garmin Nuvi GPS so that we would know where to go while in DC.  I had no idea how cool this GPS was going to be!  I was super surprised at how easy it was to follow the directions on the screen or listen to the voice commands from the GPS!  The maps were colorful, correct...

I received my Garmin Nuvi as a Christmas gift from my wife. After a few months of use, I don't know how I ever lived without it! It has every address in the USA in it, and virtually every landmark, building, and point of interest. It has a database of tens of thousands of points of interest, including every restaurant, gas station, and public building. One of the neat features is the "text-to-speech" function - the device can talk to you and tell you where to go and when to turn. Plus, you can choose from a dozen languages and even pick your accent for the English voice! (I like the Australian...
