The Garmin eTrex Legend HCx is a great GPS to have if you're a geocacher, but at the same time looking for a great deal. It's cheaper than the other fancier GPSes out there, but has features that are a must-have if you geocache a lot.

One of the best features is the ability to download waypoints from the computer. If you're a frequent cacher you don't want to spend time inputting all the waypoints manually, so this helps. The preloaded maps are also pretty great, except they don't have all of the roads, and a detailed map costs more money.

In addition, the GPS is quick to acquire the satellites, and is pretty accurate due to the high-sensitivity receiver built in.

Overall, if you don't mind paying a little extra for some useful features, this GPS is right for you.

My dad has this little guy and takes it hunting (and on road trips). Really, we love it. It's got just enough information, but not too much, and provides the added security of knowing exactly where you're located. And when you're out in the mountains, that's a potentially life-saving attribute.

Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the info. My mom and I are starting to get into geocaching and are looking for a good entry level GPS. This might be the one. Thanks!
