Garmin - c340 —

My husband is into gadgets big time and this was a Christmas gift for him. He travels a lot for work and wanted something that was more convenient than maps. I compared prices online and decided to spend a bit more on what was then a newer model GPS. There are, of course a lot more bells and whistles available but the c340 has voice navigation, sunrise and sunset automatic screen changes, shortest route, fastest route, and detour recalculations. There is also an optional traffic update subscription we opted to fore go. We've been all over the country with this thing in the past three years and it has been reliable every time. We never worry about getting lost. We like the freedom of just getting up to go and the the GPS has definitely made that possible. You can look up addresses, attractions, restaurants, accommodations, points of interest, etc. directly from the unit. When the search results display there is a distance next to each option with an arrow pointing in the general direction. You can even look restaurants up by type. My husband and I agree that it is worth every penny and, though it isn't the newest gadget out there, it is reliable and still working great!
