This dashboard mount for GPS systems is outstanding. It conforms to many different dashboard styles and holds the GPS (even my larger Garmin) in place even around turns. I highly recommend this item for safety and ease of use. This will allow for a complete "heads up" driving experience.

The beanbag-type base holds the device firmly on our Town and Country minivan dashboard. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't used it myself for over 2 years. Works great!

I have owned 2 garmins and the 1 st one came with the window mount,which was ok. This Garmin holder has made my life soo easy I drive a school bus, and am abe to put this on the dash off to the side out of the way in a small spot. It never slips and is out of the way but in a spot that makes it easy to see and hear it. No matter what vehicle we use it in it fits on the dash without hanging it in a window. This is deffinatly worth the money spent.

A lot of people hate suction type mounts for GPS devices. For one thing, they leave rings on your windshield whcih are unsightly and thief magnets. They're a little inconvenient to attach and remove as well. In some states, it's even illegal (California). For people who fall into that group, this is the next best option. I was a little skeptical at first, thinking that this mount would not hold in place during hard turns or rough bump roads. Leave your concerns behind. This thing sticks to your dash like glue. It is relatively weighty from a bean-bag like filling, combined with a grippy rubber-like surface on the bottom. From there, just attach your GPS and you have the same adjustability of the windshield type mounts, such as swivel, angle, etc. Removal is as simple as undoing the wires and lifting it off your dash.

Made the purchase of this Garmin Portable Friction Mount because I did not want to attach the suction cup to my windshield for fear of leaving ring marks on glass. I really had no idea how the friction mount worked but was willing to give it a try. All I can tell you is that its magic! The bean bag like mount with a rubbery bottom is somewhat heavy but not completely a burden at all as it fits comfortably into most glove compartments or under your seat if you pack your glove compartment like I do with lots of other junk. All you do is place it on your dash and snap your Garmin GPS unit on and it rides comfortably during your drive without any slippage even on sharp turns! Another great advantage of having one of these is you can bring it with you on trips where you have to rent a car or if you have use of more than one car at home, it makes it an easy switch between cars. If you own a GPS and do not want to attach the suction to your windshield, this mount is the perfect solution.

Okay, so I've spent a lot of time reviewing a reasonable dash-board mount for my garmin gps and this one seems to provide the most reliability...but at a more costly price. The best feature that this type/model has is that it amazingly sticks well to the dashboard given quick turns and stops. Between the sand weight and the rubbery bottom surface, the dashboard mount will not give easily to sudden movements (however, it can easily be picked up and moved with your hand). Another nice feature is that it grips/locks in the gps to the mount so you should not have to worry about the two being broken apart. And the gps can easily be rotated / readjusted to suit the best viewing angle for when you are driving.
