My husband bought us a Garmin Nuvi a couple of years ago.  We had absolutely no gps experience.  We do a lot of traveling and have always depended on those olden day things known as maps.  We did our fare share of mapping our route, trying to figure out the mileage and quickest route and of course, more than our fair share of getting lost.  But, all of that ended when we got our garmin.  My husband is one of that men that will read every review and article before he purchases something.  So, we bought the best and most reliable, a Garmin and we love it!!  That garmin goes everywhere with...

I purchased this GPS because I am a contract network repairman. It has been a pleasure and somewhat of a pain. The reason is most of the time the address I need to go to is in the register but sometimes it is not. I have found that if I have to go to a brand new place then it is not able to find that particular address. I have even uploaded the newest maps from Garmin. If you plan to keep the GPS for a couple years the lifetime map upload for a onetime fee is better than per map every quarter. I learned that after I had purchased a single map. The Bluetooth works well however I am hard of hearing...

I bought 2 Garmin Nuvi 670 's   for my sons -- and wow.. how great they are! Sure have come in handy on a ton of occasions! I didn't realize just how much use WE would all get out of them! Not that we travel alot. But even for just traveling a few towns away, they sure come in handy.  and not to mention they 'talk' to you which is a great feature. Then to top it all off.. my cousin has one too, and we took a road trip to Texas! from Boston... and it took us there without a hitch! We named her "Emma"! and we just talked to her all the way there. Told her what a great job she was doing! hehe..... review »

We borrowed my parents' Garmin to drive around the southern USA this summer, and found it indispensable for finding hotels, gas, and restaurants along the way. It's a must for driving trips.

We decided we HAD to have it for Europe, where we live for most of the year. In Switzerland, we have a terrible time with directions, as the roads in Europe are not on a grid pattern and street signs are so tiny they are rendered useless. The Garmin was about 95% accurate for roads, toll roads, etc, and about 75% accurate for restaurants (which close often).

My only complaint for this unit is that the...

I especially love the feature of being able to "mark" specific place and come back to it. We live ina rural area and I am not 100% sure where all the dirt roads lead. I have all our fields marked and can run from one to another with seed, fertilizer, part and know I am using the shortest route possible. Garmins are NOT just for cities, they are great for being out in the "Boonies" too!
