I love the idea of new technology but must admit that I'm not very good at figuring out complex products. So I am so grateful to the folks at Garmin for making such an easy-to-use GPS. The touch screen on this GPS is fast and uncomplicated. Store your favorite addresses....like your home address....by touching the screen to get to "favorites". Easily enter your address (or addresses) by touching the screen to bring up the number and alphabet screens and spell out what you want to store in favorite places. Then from anywhere you are, ask the GPS (via touching the screen again) to get you back to a favorite place. Wow - instant directions in a pleasant voice.
Miss your turn?.....the GPS recalculates automatically. It's really hard to get lost. And feel hungry/need to find a store...gas station....hospital....point of interest? Don't have an address for it? There is a touchscreen menu easily accessed to find what you need in the area you are in...and of course the GPS knows the area you are in -even if you don't-from the satellite fix it has.
The price on this particular GPS has come down quite a bit from what it cost originally because Garmin has had several new models come out since then. But I have also had the opportunity to use one of their newest ones and they only difference I can notice is that the screen is a little larger on some newer models. But I did not have any trouble at all in seeing the screen on this NUVI - and it's much more affordable.
What a great gift for anyone who drives!
