So, we lived with my mother-in-law for eight months, in a different state, and she had one of these. As we were in an unfamiliar state, we borrowed her Garmin a lot. I was not impressed. It would send us down strange little back roads and take us off a highway just to get back on it again in one block. It didn't always take the fastest or easiest route. When I searched for a Walmart it sent me to Kmart! I'd sooner just carry a phonebook in the car with me and read a map; in fact, that's what I do! Much more effective. The voices were fun though! It was decent enough for long-distance travel but not very useful around town. I did like the touch screen, and it was easy enough to figure out how to use, as long as one was not driving at the same time! I also liked that it worked while unplugged. I even stood in the parking lot with it and turned in a circle, and the little car turned on the screen! But I'm very much relieved to be back home now, where I know my way around, and have no need for such gadgets.
