Most HelpfulBack in the good ole' days out of college - no mortgage, no family. When 100% of my post-bar-tab take-home pay was disposable, I would have gladly plunked down the dough for a GPS. But one day I realized how much money I'd been wasting on these unnecessary electronics purchases. I considered whether...

Most HelpfulI've had my nüvi 350 for a little over a year, now and it's really handy, but it's not perfect. When it gives me directions to residential addresses, it seems to be off by a couple hundred feet, which can mess you up with finding the right house if you can't see the house numbers.
If you need it to come up from a powered off state, be prepared to wait 3-4 minutes. Doesn't sound like much, but I can cover a lot of territory in that time and find that I've missed a good turn-off point. The biggest problem of all I have with it is that I don't have it installed into my dashboard, so I have to turn...
read full review »The Garmin nuvi 350 is a very handy compact travel accessory. What is especially nice is that you can easily carry it with you. The worst aspect is the standard mount that comes with the unit. After first using it, we immediately purchased the "bean bag" type mount which really works well and enables you to move the unit to either the dash or console. For people who use more than one vehicle, you can easily transfer the nuvi 350 between cars.
We gave the nuvi 350 the ultimate test by driving to Washington D.C. and its Virginia suburbs where you had to navigate around and across some major...
read full review »This is often a highly rated GPS unit, for good reason. It's easy to use right out of the box, and the small portable size (about the size of a PDA) means I can jam it in my purse every time I leave my car. The built-in battery means I can take it walking with me. There's even a pedestrian function on the unit!
The unit speaks street names which is a big help. Instead of "turn right in 0.1 miles", it says for example, "turn right on Washington Street". On that note, it also has funny quirks which I don't mind too much. For example, when telling you "turn right on Martin Luther Dr"...
read full review »I do a lot of playdates for my kids and got so tired of mapquesting everything, writing down directions and trying to read them while driving. We invested in the Garmin Nuvi 350 after much research. Its a wondeful GPS! It has text to speech, offers location arrival time, length of distance before turning, different cars to display and even offers male and female voices! It has a lot of the "extras" without paying the price. The only complaint I have is that the holder than you stick on your windshield constantly falls off. Sometimes while driving down the road, the whole thing will...
read full review »The Garmin Nuvi 350 has been such a wonderful addition to our vacations!! It has a some what slow startup (in my opinion, but I'm a little impatient) but once it's ready to go it's FABULOUS!! The unit is very good about finding the most direct route using major roadways, but is also able to get you to a direction from the middle of no where (I've been "rescued" by it more than once). It offers some outstanding features like - restaurant finder... imagine this ... you are driving along and suddenly start to feel hungry, not only will it give you a list of local restaurants, but it will...
read full review »I purchased this GPS for my wife for Christmas and it's been great for her. It speaks the name of the road as you approach, telling you to make a left or a right, so you don't have to always look at the screen. It's not the best I've seen as far as knowing routes and if you're familiar with an area it doesn't always take you the quickest or even easiest way. I've started using it a bit myself, and for my work it would be excellent to have the ablitly to add multiple points on a route. But for the money, it hasn't failed us yet. It's not the most expensive or cheapest, so it's really the perfect...
read full review »I recieved the Garmin Nuvi 350 as a christmas present last year and I can tell you after having used the unit for more than a year I love it. I use it when we are driving, camping, hunting, and boating. The unit is very attractive looking and is small for a gps which I like because it doesnt take up too much windshield real estate. I personally opted to purchase the non-skid dash mount for this unit because of how far the windshield was from me in my truck. This unit has gotten me to the places I needed to be without too much out of the way driving it seems. I also use its memory to store good...
read full review »after reading tons of reviews bought this and have been so disappointed.
it takes several minutes to find current location and sometimes even have to reboot.
my biggest peeve is that it simply gives wrong directions (not always of course) but in a major city like NEW YORK CITY - in queens where the major highways have not changed it should be able to plot the accurate course.
it is most aggravating when i follow the directions exactly as stated but then it says "recalculating" because it thinks you are now on the wrong path.
to add insult to injury it continues to fall off the windshield. if...
read full review »The Garmin Nuvi 350-GPS is a great tool which is compact and easy to use. It saves addresses in memory to avoid having to re-enter information. Optional prompting to let you know the turn is coming up.
One down side is it doesn't always "get it" that you don't want it to take you to the route it wants you to take. I like to store trips in memory because I tend to daydream and could easily forget a turn, the prompting helps remind me. As over time it may learn the route, it is not always the case so you just have to be aware of how you actually want to use the device.
I purchased a traffic receiver...
