If you are looking to start out using a gps unit then the Garmin-Nuvi 200W GPS system is a great place to start. From it's reasonable price tag to it's no extra thrills like no mp3 player, I have found the Garmin- Nuvi 200W easy to use and very accurate straight out of the box. I have found it an cheap way to get started.
