The Nuvi 205W's chassis will be immediately familiar to anyone who has ever used a Garmin PND. The unit measures 4.8 inches wide by 2.9 inches tall by 0.8 inch deep and features a color touch screen that takes up almost the entirety of the front panel. The screen measures 4.3 inches diagonally and displays full-color imagery at a WQVGA resolution of 480x272 pixels.

Along the top edge of the unit is the power/lock slider. Pushing this slider toward the power icon powers the unit on and off. Moving the slider toward the lock icon will lock the touch screen. The left edge of the unit houses an SD...

Bought the GPS as a present for my self, and have fallen in love with it. It has come in real handy. It has easy to use features, easy to navigate screens. The turn by turn directions with voice prompts is nice. I also like that you can customize the car on the screen. I would recommend this product to all my friends and family. It is a good bargain to was not that overly expensive. I really like that you can add your own points of interest as you go. I was in a market for a GPS because we are thinking of moving and we thought it would come in handy when we move to the new city and state.

The Garmin Nuvi 255W is a really sound GPS that will give you some nice features for a GPS that is priced at around 200 bucks.  It has a 4.3 inch screen which is nice.  However, please understand that this does not show you more of the map when you look at it.  It shows the same amount of map area, but stretches that area onto the bigger screen.  I don't know if this matters to most people, but i'm sure it would to some people out there.  I quite like that the machine gives road names, which makes it much easier than some other GPS machines I have used in the past.  It also gives great warnings...

I am torn between the Garmin and just using a Map quest directions which I print before leaving the house.  Our son has the Garmin in his truck and we use the Map quest directions when we are following him to go kart racing races, where I grandson races go-karts.  The other day, we were in Ohio and going down this road, which was on the mapquest, and all of a sudden you had to detour as there was road construction.  I was lost then with the mapquest, but he just went to the Garmin and we were able to travel the detour route and get to the go-kart race on time.  My biggest problem is that I...

The garmon nuvi 760 is a wonderful device that allows me to explore different areas without being worried about losing my directions.  If i missed a direction it will reroute me automatically so i still arrive at my destination quickly.   It also allows me access to phone numbers for destinations that I would normally have to call 411 to get.  It will find generic destinations such as gas, restaurants, liquor stores, shopping, and other places.  The constant charger helps it to always be ready when I need it. It also allows me to know the amount of time it will take to reach a destination...

My Husband and I recently went on vacation to Charlestown South Carolina and since we had never been there before I let him have his Christmas gift early. We really found that this Garmin had been more than just a nice plaything, it helped us get to our destination safely without getting lost several times and saved the many arguements we usually have over where to turn. Anyone who travels with a man knows if you get lost both husband and wife are usually angry by the time you arrive at your destination. The graphics were good and very clear, and I loved that it had voice text to prompt us when... review »

I couldn't decide if I needed an Iphone to access live traffic updates and maps on my way to work or a GPS. Everyone I know who has an Iphone complains about the cost per month and the poor quality of AT&T. So I decided to go for the Garmin. And I'm not disappointed.

This is the perfect tool for me. Not only can I chart my course for each of my destinations, I can also see if there's traffic on the route and how bad it is. Then I can decide to request a detour to save some time.

I can also search for local restaurants, grocery stores, parking structures, ATMs and gas stations. Today we found our...

It works pretty well. It gets me where I need to go for the most part. However, it sometimes send me on a wild goose chase. Luckily I know where I am going most of the time. It works good, bottom line.

MapQuest, Google Earth, Magellan, etc. All ways of finding your way somewhere. I have NEVER been able to read a map and have NEVER been able to decipher what on earth half the directions are to setting up my navigation systems or portable GPS units. The Gamin Nuvi is SO incredibly easy to set up. Theres no going through 70 registration prompts, theres no trying to figure out what you need in order to start finding your way, it's so easy. I've taken my Garmin Nuvi everything from inside my car to finding my way around Cancun Mexico for a vacation. Whenever I need to find the closest bank from one...

The Garmin Nuvi 670 you can't get lost. It is the greatest and we use ours all the time. You don't have to look at the screen since it talks. We are sure to get to where we need to be.WE would really be lost without ours.

This is an easy to use navigation system.  It is very accurate, although you have to update the maps periodically.  We like the portability of this, as navigation systems were new to autos when we purchased our autos and do not have one in either.  Also, the portability allows you to take it with you when you are traveling - great feature when you are renting a car in a place that you are unfamiliar with.  There is a sound system which can be turned down or off, if needed.  The price is reasonable and we are on year 3 with ours, so it is durable.  Some roads may not be on it without updating...

I have had four GPS devices (three Garmin) and find this one almost useless.  When not locked up, it works as advertised but when it does lock up it is trouble.  To get it back online I have to move the power switch to the off postition and hold it there until the GPS reboots (this is dangerous when driving but I will admit it is better than the Magellen I had whrere one had to dismount the unit and use a paperclip to reset the unit).

The Bluetooth feature is another problem.  It works for a little while and then disconnects.

The FM transmitter is OK until you reach an area where a local station...

We have a Garmin GPS installed in one of the cars for our household, so if I expect to go somewhere unfamiliar or confusing, I take that car!  I used to question its information and get more lost-I have learned my lesson!  If it needs to be updated for factual information, they are willing see it through on getting it changed-I really appreciate that.  I've been impressed with the accuracy of the details of exactly where I am-even the smallest and most remote alleys!  I've been in so many situations now where its been SO much more convenient than having to Mapquest it.  I don't want to bother...
