Gardasil HPV Vaccine Review

I have two daughters and when I went to take my 12 year old in for her new round of shots for school we sat there patiently in the office.I waited and the nurse came in with the shots.I asked her what they all were being a nosey Mom.She started telling me while she was givng my daughter her meningitis vaccine so when she gave her almost all of them she got down to the last one and I ask her what this last one was for and she said oh this is Guardasil.I asked her what exactly it was and she told  me it prevented different strains of the Human Papiloma Virus.I was glad that science created a vaccine that prevented a few strains of HPV but I was slightly upset that she was going to give this to my daughter without my permisson and especially being that she had not even had sex yet or a real boyfriend.I know girls are having sex at young ages but not every child is and this shot is only good for 3 years and not after age 25.It can cause the basic swelling at injection site but there have been severe cases or passing out and other things.I told her No! I told the nurse my daughter would not be getting this shot today that right now there was not a need and if in the near future when she was a few years older we may consider it.It really bothered me that she was gonna vaccinate my child wothout my permission with a vaccine the FDA pushed quicky along so it oculd start being administered.I am thnakful for science and all of it's wonders but to me I would like to see something on the market for awhile before I place it inside of my childs body.What people need to understand is that when a vaccin ir a drug is marketed it is done rapidly and to anyone that is willing to use it on their patients and sometimes when things are ran through the FDA so fast you become their guinea pig.I have already seen where they were talking about recalling the shot there has been a couple fatatlities and alot of other things.No one wants their child to contract HPV but no one wants to start innoculating their kids with experimental cures and preventions not knwoing the full ramifications from it.Vaneral Warts are out there in society but I would like to think when the time comes for my children to wan to have sex they can come to talk to me so we can find some birth control .I have had the talk with my kids even about HPV.So hopefully my kids will come to me and if she decides she wants to take the vaccine when she is ready it is her choice but for now I am not gonna push it off on her.
