Gamma Hoppette Ball Hopper Value Pack - Tennis Balls Included Review

My kids are taking tennis this year, but with only one hour 2 times a week and like 15 kids per instructor to be honest they are not learning all that much in the class.  So I decided that after they had class time with the class then I would play with them and help teach them for a half hour or an hour depending how tired they are and how hot it is.  Of course since they are new at playing tennis they tend to hit a lot of balls all over the place.  I know that when you play with beginers you either need to have a lot of balls or spend the entire playing time chasing down balls that were mis hit.  I opted for having a lot of balls.

While we were shopping for a new racket for my daugher I happened to see the Gamma Hoppette Ball Hopper Value Pack - which included 18 balls.  At the price of $29.99 I thought it would be well worth it for me to purchase.

For thos of you who do not know what a ball hopper is, it is basically a little portable cage for balls.  You will usually see some kind of hopper wherever there is some sort of tennis class.  Hoppers can usually be held by a handle, and you can just put the hopper on top of a ball and push down a little bit and the ball will go inside, and will not come out again.  Therefore lazy people will be happy to know that they will not have to bend over to pick up the tennis balls.

The Gamma Hoppette Ball Hopper is made of a diamond clad material that is resistant to all weather.  The coating on the Hopper will survive the rain, wind, and lots of sun for many years. 

The Gamma Hoppette Ball Hopper 50 is what they call locker sized, but keep in mind the basket portion is more of a foot locker size than a full sized locker.  This hopper will hold between 25 and 30 balls comfortably. 

The lid can flip up or can be removed for easy ball removal.  The basket has a long handle so even tall people can us it with ease.  The hopper is also light weight and easy to carry.  It's sleek as well so it is not that difficult to store.  If you have a long hook in your garage or shed you can easily hang it by it's handle.

As mentioned above the Value pack part of this Hopper means that it includes the 18 Gamma Permanent Pressure Balls.  If you are not familiar Permanent Pressure balls that means that they are made of a strong rubber core, and they are made to last, these are great balls for people that hit really hard like my husband, and they will last a bit longer than normal balls.  A set of 18 Gamma Permanent Pressure Balls sells for around $15.00 so getting this set together is a real deal. 

This hopper would be good for someone like me who is trying to teach my kids to play, or anyone who is teaching an individual to play, somone like a private instructor with one or two students would benifit from this. This is also nice to have if you are heading out to the court by yourself just to practice some serves.  A coach or someone who teaches a class with more than a few people would probably want to have a larger hopper that would carry more balls. 

For us the The Gamma Hoppette Ball Hopper Value Pack has been wonderful.  It holds plenty of balls so we can keep playing for a long time with out haveing to chase mis-hit balls.  It also keeps all the balls neatly in place and is easy to load in to my trunk.  It also does not take up a lot of space in the garage.
