I have used the scented liquid Gain detergent and was satisfied with my purchase, so I decided to pick up the Gain Fabric Softener Sheets when I found them in Dollar Tree.  Besides, who can turn down the price of only $1.00 per box of fabric softener sheets when it is a name brand?  I was looking forward to trying a fabric softener sheet other than Bounce, since it pretty much has a monopoly on the fabric softener sheet market.

Gain Fabric Softener Sheets

Gain Fabric Softener Sheets come in a small rectangular box that is about 6 inches wide and 4 inches in height. The thickness of the box is 1 inch. Each green and yellow box contains 20 fabric softener sheets and only cost be a buck as stated above.

The fabric softener sheets are white (just like its competitor, Bounce) and each one measures 6.4" x 9". The box I purchased was the Original Fresh scent. They are also available in Mountain Fresh and Island Fresh scents and larger size boxes (80 count).

Gain claims these fabric softener sheets will soften you clothes and control static cling. They are easy to use, just put one sheet in your clothes dryer upon the start of the cycle.  For large loads of laundry the box states to use two sheets.

Ingredients

Contains biodegradable catiionic softeners and perfume.

Product Warnings

Do not use this product with any flame resistant clothing such as children's pajamas. This product could reduce the effectiveness of the flame resistance.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

My Viewpoint

When I ran out of my liquid fabric softener and popped this box open, I was surprised at the scent which I found to be quite strong upon opening the box.  It was a fresh scent but seemed to have a strong hint of perfume to them.  This is fairly common when you open a new box of fabric softener sheets.  I just seem to be a bit sensitive when it comes to perfumes with my allergies.

I wasn't expecting to really notice a difference in softness when I took my clothes out of the dryer, but I could immediately tell my clothes were softer.  They also smelled great.  The scent left on clothing is very mild and pleasant. My laundry was nice and fluffy and not clingy.  Of course, the real test will come in the winter when the static cling is at its worse!

Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of the new Gain Fabric Softener Sheets.  I wasn't expecting this product to exceed my expectations but it did.  In comparison to Bounce, this product works just as well, if not better.  And for only $1.00 per package, you bet I’ll be buying more if I can find them at Dollar Tree!

Gain is the only other dryer sheet (besides Bounce) that I've found that works! Love their scents as well!

You can find some pleasant surprizes in dollar stores. I wonder if Gain makes the dryer sheets for sensitive skin also.

What a great review. It was very intelligent and thoughtful. I think there's a Dollar Tree store in this area and I might check this out. Even if it was a little more, it wouldn't be a bad deal.
