Motorola - Cliq

Motorola - Cliq

2009

The Cliq doesn't break new ground designwise; however, it broadens the hardware options available to Android users. It's the first device since the G1 to offer a full QWERTY keyboard and it beats its predecessor on that front by having a more comfortable key layout. The slider mechanism is also improved over the G1's swing-out arrangement. At 4.49 inches tall by 2.28 inches wide by 0.61 inches thick, the Cliq is big enough to have a solid feel while remaining portable. The construction and moving parts are sturdy and we like the textured battery cover. The Cliq is available in titanium and winter...

The Garmin Nuvi 255W is a really sound GPS that will give you some nice features for a GPS that is priced at around 200 bucks.  It has a 4.3 inch screen which is nice.  However, please understand that this does not show you more of the map when you look at it.  It shows the same amount of map area, but stretches that area onto the bigger screen.  I don't know if this matters to most people, but i'm sure it would to some people out there.  I quite like that the machine gives road names, which makes it much easier than some other GPS machines I have used in the past.  It also gives great warnings...

I am torn between the Garmin and just using a Map quest directions which I print before leaving the house.  Our son has the Garmin in his truck and we use the Map quest directions when we are following him to go kart racing races, where I grandson races go-karts.  The other day, we were in Ohio and going down this road, which was on the mapquest, and all of a sudden you had to detour as there was road construction.  I was lost then with the mapquest, but he just went to the Garmin and we were able to travel the detour route and get to the go-kart race on time.  My biggest problem is that I...

the garmin 265w is my second gps and now i'm sorry it wasn't my first.  if i had only known all the features, bells and whistles on the garmin i wouldn't have spent money on the competion. it is amazing.  now i am never lost, and can find just any thing out there from a particular restraunt to a hospital.  good going guys. this gps has more features, like traffic alerts and school zones, rerouting is so quick your head can spin.  my husband will dilliberately make a wrong turn or go a different route just to try to mess up the directions, and in less than a minute a new route is announced,...

The garmon nuvi 760 is a wonderful device that allows me to explore different areas without being worried about losing my directions.  If i missed a direction it will reroute me automatically so i still arrive at my destination quickly.   It also allows me access to phone numbers for destinations that I would normally have to call 411 to get.  It will find generic destinations such as gas, restaurants, liquor stores, shopping, and other places.  The constant charger helps it to always be ready when I need it. It also allows me to know the amount of time it will take to reach a destination...

My Husband and I recently went on vacation to Charlestown South Carolina and since we had never been there before I let him have his Christmas gift early. We really found that this Garmin had been more than just a nice plaything, it helped us get to our destination safely without getting lost several times and saved the many arguements we usually have over where to turn. Anyone who travels with a man knows if you get lost both husband and wife are usually angry by the time you arrive at your destination. The graphics were good and very clear, and I loved that it had voice text to prompt us when... review »

TomTom - TomTom One

TomTom - TomTom One
Willing to pay for quality

NOV

2009

I have used the Tom Tom One on lots of short trips and two very long trips.  The short trips have been to Salt Lake City, Utah.  In navigating around Salt Lake City, the Tom Tom One has been very accurate in getting me to the places I need or would like to go.  I have also used the Tom Tom One to go to and navigate in some smaller towns here in Wyoming.  The longer trips have been to Texas.  I have found that the Tom Tom One is accurate in 99.9% of all directions, I don't think that any GPS will be 100% accurate all the time, that I needed.

I really like the way that the Tom Tom One computer...

Only a few months ago I had to get on the computer to find directions to wherever i was planning to go. But then my firend turned me on to my tomtom and i haven't been the same since. I can go anywhere i want to. It is so easy to use and my wife loves it and i have to go in her car to find it when i need it cause she thinks it is hers. The tomtom is straight up and forward about getting you there in the shorest time possible. I love being able to change the car symbols to whatever i am driving or riding in and the voices crack me up. I mean George W telling you directions- what can you say about...

All in all I like this GPS. Bought it to move from Florida to Tennessee. It made the trip effortless. Now that I use it to navigate here in local Tennessee, I find it not as reliable. It took me the (long) wrong way on two occasions, but the correct way on the return trip. What's up with that?  Another occasion, I went 1/4 mile past my destination before "she" announced you have arrived at your location! Most of the time I get printed driving instructions to back up the GPS before I leave home. I am going to try out another voice because some of the  voiced streets are not clear, but I guess...

2009

The Magellan 4250 is the best device I have ever used. I go no were without it. I have used it numerous times and it took me straight to my destination each time. I am very directionally challenged and with the device I can go anywhere with no fear of ever getting lost. It is so easy to use a child could use it. I also like the advantage of finding someplace to eat once I get to my destination. The 4250 has just about everything you need to find a good restaurant or something to do to keep you busy. Thank you who ever invented the piece of wonderful technology.

All you need to do is type in your...

I couldn't decide if I needed an Iphone to access live traffic updates and maps on my way to work or a GPS. Everyone I know who has an Iphone complains about the cost per month and the poor quality of AT&T. So I decided to go for the Garmin. And I'm not disappointed.

This is the perfect tool for me. Not only can I chart my course for each of my destinations, I can also see if there's traffic on the route and how bad it is. Then I can decide to request a detour to save some time.

I can also search for local restaurants, grocery stores, parking structures, ATMs and gas stations. Today we found our...

Magellan - Roadmate 1340 GPS Device

Magellan - Roadmate 1340 GPS Device

NOV

2009
The new Magellan series of Roadmate GPS systems are very nice. It is all touch screen, you can create a route with several stops and calculate which ones to go to first, second, and so on. The really nice parts are the highway exit ramps that show up on the screen, so you don't accidently get in the wrong lane. It speaks the street names, and is much more accurate than the older systems were. The 1340 has a 3" screen. Even better is the 1470 which features a 5" screen, it's easy to read and loud enough to be heard over the radio. My only complaint is the USB power cord. They are not the greatest... review »

Willing to pay for quality

I purchased my TomTom at a Radio Shack because I kept getting lost trying to navigate between Pine Mountain and LaGrange. The streets, roads and directions from people living there were very confusing. I simply turned on my TomTom, typed in the addresses I need to go to and the TomTom put me directly at the person's door and also the businesses. I was absolutely amazed. It also showed the number of miles I had to go to reach my destination. When I travel through big towns like Atlanta, I travel "worry free" because I know when to change lanes to get on the correct roads and have plenty of time...
