Most HelpfulWe purchased this machine about 3 months ago when our previous GE machine motor pooped out after 5 years of serious and steady usage.
This washing machine is so quiet for the most part. I had to go back and check and make sure it was actually running as it went through the wash cycle. If you put your...

Most HelpfulBought this new GE Profile washer 4 months ago. Spin cycle stopped working so I emptied water by hand along with a load of wet laundry. Called GE and was advised that they would not send a tech until I had gone thru a ridiculous procedure that required I put a significant amount of laundry in, start...
read full review »I have had this washer for 2 months. It does not get the powder off the clothes let alone the dirt. It is full of water, and dirty clothes . The Tech said the Control board it out.
This is the worse machine I have ever owned. Do not buy this machine.
Oh GE Profile Washing Machine - how do I love you? Let me count the ways.
This washer has a serious design flaw. If you think on the Hot cycle it fills the water from your hot water tap, think again. It dilutes the incoming hot water with cold to the "perfect" 105F. To me this is tepid, not hot.
I complained to GE people that the hot water is not hot enough, and they said that the PerfecTemp Target Wash Temperatures: Hot- 105° , Warm- 90° , Cold- 60°.
However, the owners manual says "Make sure house water heater is delivering water at 120°F–140°F (48°C–60°C)" .
Something does not add up. I should NOT have to heat the water only to get it...
read full review »I just love this GE Profile Top Load Washer! I had a little bit older (maybe a couple years old) model at our house previously but had to leave it with the house. I loved it so much that I had to get another one in my new house. It is very reasonably priced for a High Efficiency Washer and I can stuff a lot of clothes in there! It was at least $150 cheaper than the cheapest front load. I like to be able to add clothes in after the cycle begins. Sometimes I forget that important piece that needs cleaned on that cycle! This new model does not have an agitator but my old one did, leaving more room...
read full review »Bought this machine March 1st 2009, now it doesn't work. Technician finally came out today, mind you after the scheduled time and said that the motor is bad. Now I have to wait until next Tuesday for them to replace the motor of a six month old used machine. In the mean time after paying over $600. for a washer, six months later I have to go to the laundry mart for the grown up clothes and handwash my baby's clothes. Great job GE...never again.
Don't buy the GE Profile. Motor and control panel went out after two years. GE refuses to do anything about it. Poor product, poor customer service.
