We purchased this machine about 3 months ago when our previous GE machine motor pooped out after 5 years of serious and steady usage.

This washing machine is so quiet for the most part.  I had to go back and check and make sure it was actually running as it went through the wash cycle.  If you put your...

Bought this new GE Profile washer 4 months ago.  Spin cycle stopped working so I emptied water by hand along with a load of wet laundry.  Called GE and was advised that they would not send a tech until I had gone thru a ridiculous procedure that required I put a significant amount of laundry in, start...

Large capacity.  Haven't found anything it wouldn't take care of.  Love the touch screen and stain category in particular.  Also appreciate the "my cycle" choices.  Paired with the profile dryer takes all the work out of laundry for me.

Because this machine loads the way it does, I feel it has cleaned my clothes better than any other I have used.  It has an efficient cycle that truly gets the job done and it is the only one I use now.  In the past I have used machines that seem to have shortened the life of the clothes I was washing.  When the cycle says gentle, it truly is gentle.  I feel that long term usage will still leave our clothes in great shape and it will be the wear and tear of us bring in new clothes, not the machine.  I know as each year passes they come up with new and improved ways to make the washer and dryer,... read full review »

I have had this washer for 2 months.  It does not get the powder off the clothes let alone the dirt.  It is full of water, and dirty clothes .  The Tech said the Control board it out.

This is the worse machine I have ever owned.  Do not buy this machine.

I have owned a GE washer for over 25 years now. This washer has went through alot and it is still working. We had a flood in our basement over 20 years ago and my washer was in the basement. The water was all the way to the ceiling of the basement and my washer was floating around in the water. I thought for sure it would never work again. Once it dried out all the way we plugged it in and turned it on and it worked just like if we just got it new. I have since moved from that place and took my washer with me and it is still working to this day. I am sure it will die some day but on till it does... read full review »

Oh GE Profile Washing Machine - how do I love you?  Let me count the ways.

  1. You have second rinse AND extended spin options - my clothes smell so fresh!
  2. I need less soap with you my dear and that makes me happy.
  3. You have DELICATE cycle that is actually DELICATE
  4. When you broke the repairman knew exactly what was wrong with my baby...he fixed it in less than an hour and even wiped my sweet baby off with a towel!  He was lovely.
  5. You were on sale at the Home Depot because you were the floor model!  ;)
  6. You hold more than any washer I have ever had - makes laundry fly by!
  7. You go so sweetly with...

This washer has a serious design flaw. If you think on the Hot cycle it fills the water from your hot water tap, think again. It dilutes the incoming hot water with cold to the "perfect" 105F. To me this is tepid, not hot.

I complained to GE people that the hot water is not hot enough, and they said that the PerfecTemp Target Wash Temperatures: Hot- 105° , Warm- 90° , Cold- 60°.

However, the owners manual says "Make sure house water heater is delivering water at 120°F–140°F (48°C–60°C)" .

Something does not add up. I should NOT have to heat the water only to get it...

Easy to use, and reliable.  Saves space, time and money.  I really like GE's products because they come with a good warranty and very good service people when you have to call on the phone.  Have not had any trouble w/my GE products.  Would definitely buy again.

I just love this GE Profile Top Load Washer! I had a little bit older (maybe a couple years old) model at our house previously but had to leave it with the house. I loved it so much that I had to get another one in my new house. It is very reasonably priced for a High Efficiency Washer and I can stuff a lot of clothes in there! It was at least $150 cheaper than the cheapest front load. I like to be able to add clothes in after the cycle begins. Sometimes I forget that important piece that needs cleaned on that cycle! This new model does not have an agitator but my old one did, leaving more room...

It's hard to find a washing machine that's large enough to hold a comforter but gentle enough to wash your most delicate items.  This machine meets all my needs with a variety of wash cycles and speeds.  It fits lots of clothing in one load that in my old machine would require two loads.  It's super quiet - sometimes I have to double check to make sure I hit the start button.  I'm not real big on the electronics on it - think it's something that might break but it was in stock and that was most important since my old one died and I was in the middle of laundry.

Bought this machine March 1st 2009, now it doesn't work.  Technician finally came out today, mind you after the scheduled time and said that the motor is bad.  Now I have to wait until next Tuesday for them to replace the motor of a six month old used machine.  In the mean time after paying over $600. for a washer, six months later I have to go to the laundry mart for the grown up clothes and handwash my baby's clothes.  Great job GE...never again.

This has been the most reliable washer I have ever owed.  I have not had a single problme with it.  I loved it so much I refused to sell it with the house when I moved.  It has a huge capicity and as a single mom I need it!  No time to do more loads than necessary.  The clothes always come out clean.  Great value.

Don't buy the GE Profile.  Motor and control panel went out after two years.  GE refuses to do anything about it. Poor product, poor customer service.
